Trade Offer Help

Ok I play in a standard 8 person (so much depth) H2H league. I was given this trade offer:

I trade Adam Lind, and Ryan Dempster

For Shin-Soo Choo, and Edinson Volquez

I know Lind has been a beast the last few days and the season is still very young so I'm not sure if he can keep it up or not.  Choo looks better on paper and has struggle the last few days but i still think Choo is better here.

My pitching staff is somewhat weak and i thought if Volquez can rebound of Tommy John he's the better player. I'm not totally sure what to do. My gut tells me accept the trade but i would like to get a second opinion.

How do your league’s position eligibility rules work? If Lind is eligible at 1B and OF that may add some value especially if you have an injury risk at 1B so you would probably want to keep him in that case.

Choo is a top 10 OF in many rankings this year but Lind was also a top 10 player heading into 2009. Lind could close the gap between him and Choo.

Dempster is a much safer pitcher to have and Volquez carries a pretty big injury risk with him. Dempster’s age forces you to consider injuries as a possibility for him as well. He has pitched more than 200 innings for three years in a row so he has proven durable. If Volquez can stay healthy he would produce similar to Dempster with a few more Ks.

Personally I would hang onto Lind and Dempster but there are a lot of Canadian connections here that could be clouding my opinion.

Alright...

Thank for the write up. I already have alot of depth at first so I’m set there. In my mind Dempster’s age is finally catching up to him after a rough start of the season. I also need more K’s and Volquez can offer that. As for Lind I like him over Choo but Choo can swipe a base which is something my team needs as well. I’m pretty sure I’m going to take this trade to build on my team’s weakness. But thanks for the help.
