Pedro Alvarez - How long is his leash?
With today's demotion of Travis Snider, it got me thinking... is Pedro Alvarez next? Heading into this season, he was a popular pick for a thin position, but he has done nothing but disappoint. He been a slow starter throughout his professional career, so its quite possible that a hot streak or some good games are right around the corner. As an Alvarez owner myself, I'm quite frustrated and disappointed in his performance thus far. The upside is undeniable of course, but I guess sometimes it takes young kids a little while to figure things out.

true
but Alvarez struggled at each level of the minors then things came together for him. I think Pittsburgh lets him play through the tough times here. They did move him down to 7th recently.

Pretty long
It’s the Pirates, I think they are pretty committed to getting their young future everyday guys lots of AB to learn at the MLB level. Alvarez isn’t going anywhere. Except eventually first base.
It's a no-brain that I start playing Wilson Betemit over Pedro Alvarez now right?
