If Colvin and Ian Stweart end up having 30 HR years and Fuentes winds up with 30+ saves you might have a shot at finishing in the top half of your league, maybe higher, depending how pieces fall into place. Did you draft this team? If so, what pick did you get and who were your first few selections?
i think i had the 6th pick, and i took robinson cano. then i traded him for rollins, utley, and jose lopez.
which really screwed me over with utley injuries. so then some guy was willing to take a chance on him so i traded chase utley for gordon beckham. i got utley before his injury. thats why i did the trade

round 1- cano. traded.
round 2- Fielder. traded him too.
round 3- victor martinez. traded him too.
round 4- jose bautista. him hoping he can repeat.
round 5- josh johnson. i traded him in the prince fielder deal.
as u can see. im extremely active with my team.

what do you get back?
I ask because I don’t believe in trading away the the best player in a deal, and dont see the depth one would expect from dealing elite players.
my victor martinez deal was pretty good.
it was v mart for chris young, ian stewart, and miguel montero. and my other trade was cano for rollins utley and jose lopez. i kinda regret that trade. even if utley didnt get injured. the season hasnt even started yet and ive already done 10 trades. lol

Some nice upside
I think several of your guys are poised to have solid season/bounceback years. I’m pretty high on Andre Ethier and Adam Lind this year. Lind’s BABIP last year was ridiculously low, so even if just that bounces back, he should stand to have a much better season. If Freese can perform well and stay in the lineup, I think he could have a very nice ~20 HR year. If Colvin and Belt can get/maintain playing time, I think they have some nice upside as well.
not great
but it’s not a bad team. Without knowing the other teams in your league, I’m guessing you’ll end up in the middle of the pack, slightly closer to the bottom than the top. I just don’t think that trading away your early round selections got you anything in return. Your best player right now is Bautista, and he’s not a first rounder. Essentially, it looks like you traded quality for quantity – not usually a good thing to do in fantasy sports, IMO.
i forget my fielder trade. but this is my first year of fantasy baseball, so its just something im gonna learn from.
the other teams arent very good tho. its a deep league

Just a heads up
Sounds like you drafted a much, much better team than you currently have… Its better to have elite players and pair them with waiver wire pickups than it is to have a bunch of middle of the road guys. You got screwed on every trade you listed. And hinging your entire roster on sleepers is fantasy suicide.
yea ive realized. im not gonna do that next time. but atleast i have a very deep team.

the rule of thumb
Is never trade away the best player in a deal unless you are improving two positions significantly. There are always, as you know “sleepers” or breakout players on the waiver wire, so the goal in trades is to stockpile as many “studs” as possible, and then just fill the holes with guys who break out during the season.
