Just drafted 5x5 mixed roto- any thoughts on this team?

My strategy was to punt the catcher position until very late and have my first 3 picks to be power hitting types. I went with Pujols, Prince and Youkilis as the other 3b's were already off the table by pick 20- and so were the OF players I wanted, even Matt Holliday.

Saves will be iffy and so will any speed. There's a few FA's available yet that could replace some of the guys on this roster. Any obvious holes that need filled immediately besides the catcher spots? I'll most likely use Youkilis at Utility until he becomes eligible at 3b. Then I'll move ARam to the bench unless he is playing well. Maybe that will clear up the utility spot for a FA player with some sb potential.

I just always feel that way after a draft. What do you think about it? Maybe saves won’t be so bad if some pieces fall into place. I think at catcher YT will get enough at bats to do something…if not I can just drop him like a bad habit. But I think he will surprise some. If Buck hits .250 he’ll be decent enough to keep in the line-up, assuming Stanton and Gabby keep their heads above water.

I don’t know- I haven’t played mixed league in years.

Saves should be fine

Too bad Fransisco will start on the DL.

Gardner and Figgins should end up as nice picks and I really like Uribe with all the positions he can fill.

I hope Berkman has another good season in him but I doubt he will hold up over 162 games in the outfield. If he played 140 I’d be pleased.

Thanks. I am kinda liking Uribe more too. FF was passed over so many times I finally had to pull the trigger. It looks like Granderson is starting the year on the DL too. I don’t really like having so many players from the same team, Granderson, Swisher, Gardner – in case of rain outs or when a team gets shut down by opposing pitching. But I guess if a person is going to have a whole outfield of a single team it might as well be the Yanks.

I did not do any mock drafts before this live one. But I noticed starting pitching looked pretty deep in mixed leagues, even considering the high number of dedicated spots, albeit dynamic pitching rosters, in this format. After the draft I came away thinking this may be the deepest quality starting pitching available in a very long time. Considering the number of needed roster spots, outfield quality in 5×5 formats did not appear to me to be much deeper than the well publicized SS scarcity. Maybe that’s SSS?
