Here's a look at some players in the coming week to consider picking up for your fantasy team.
Marcus Johansson - C - Capitals
Just like any other time when someone takes advantage of their opportunity, Johansson could not have picked a better chance to play with one of the best snipers in the game. When the Caps played on Friday and Backstrom returned, he was placed on the second line and Johansson stayed with the top line of Alex Ovechkin and Mike Knuble since the coach acknowledged that they were playing quite well with one another. So long as the coach gives an endorsement like that, Johansson deserves a pickup in all formats if you're still in the playoffs in H2H leagues or late in Roto or points leagues.
Matt D'Agostini - W - Blues
Kinda a deeper league pickup here since he's stands to benefit with him playing along side Andy McDonald and David Backes but doesn't have the offensive upside to be able to maintain if he were moved to any other line. If you're desperate for a winger, give him a look but don't hope for too much if you're expecting miracles.
Erik Christensen - C- Rangers
Coach Tortorella has been impressed with the way Christensen has built chemistry lately with Marian Gaborik and Vaclav Prospal. Again, not much for individual performance but with Gaborik and Prospal helping him out and the so called chemistry working with all three, it's bound to help him out since the Rangers are trying anything lately to have a shot to get the the playoffs. Give him a shot if Johansson is taken.
