DYNASTY Q: FURCAL OR STEWART FOR 1 YEAR
Hey Guys,
Quick question for ya'll....
In a fantasy league, h2h, 6x6.
would you rather have Rafael Furcal or Ian Stewart?
i have longoria at 3b right now and escobar as my SS. id basically be putting escobar on the bench instead of stewart and moving furcal to starting SS. i like stewarts power potential, but he also has the potential to hit .220
i like furcals avg and steals potential, but he gets injured alot. what do u guys think.

As of today I would say Furcal just because he’s playing in hopes of LA picking up his option, although I doubt they do it and he’s also playing at a very weak position. Stewart is also injured as of now and should be back to playing in a week or so (sprained knee).
me
I would lean toward Furcal….but this is a tough one. The Dodgers will be running more this season, and Furcal is the leadoff hitter, so he should be getting the green light.

The big drawback on Furcal is that the Dodgers have some money matters that are up in the air. According to Cot’s Contracts, Furcal’s 2012 option of $12M vests with 600 PA’s in 2011. So I would imagine the Dodgers will be sending him to the DL as early and as often as possible this coming season.
you can bet
his agent would have something to say about that. If there ever were a year Furcal stays healthy this would be it. I’d rather take a top 5-7 SS if healthy than a lottery ticket 3B.
