Fantasy Hockey 2011: Saturday Starting Backup Goalies

Stay connected for news and updates

This reports backup goaltenders who have been verified to start in games today so you don't end up getting a goose egg in your goalie stats and use any other options you have available.

Steve Mason, Blue Jackets vs. Lightning - He's only started two games against the Bolts but he's done a good job both times so he's a good play against the struggling Bolts.

Michal Neuvirth, Capitals vs. Jean-Sebastien Giguere, Avalanche - He's only started once against the Avs and he allowed 3 goals in 26 shots while Giguere has a pretty good track record in 8 career starts against the Caps. Neuvirth is a risky play while Giguere has a good matchup.

Chris Mason, Jets vs. Ducks - He has not had a great career record against the Ducks but he might be worth consideration since the Ducks are struggling mightily.

Martin Biron, Rangers vs. Coyotes - He's done a great job against the Coyotes and considering how hot the Rangers have been lately, he's a good play.

Sadly, even though this is a late report, there's still quite a few unverified starts for goaltenders so please check back alittle later to see if anymore backups are starting.
