trade help

any advice is very much appreciated. 12 team keeper league. Starting spots are 2 RB, 3WR, 1 TE and 1 Flex. Standard scoring. The trade offer is I get Darren Sproles, I give Hakeem Nicks. My Current roster Ray Rice Steven Jackson Jonathan Stewart Mark Ingram Michael Bush Dwayne Bowe AJ Green Greg Jennings Hakeem Nicks Mario Manningham Kevin Walter I would prefer to start 3 RB and 3 WR so Sproles would help, but my dilemma is can I gamble with my WR depth and bank on the top 3 guys staying healthy. Or should I keep Nicks and start the better matchup of Nicks, Stewart, or Ingram as my flex play.

You can get more for nicks IMO I wouldnt do it.

but I’d doubt you can. Sproles is easily a top-15 fantasy RB who has had no health problems this season, while Nicks is not a top-15 option at WR, due primarily to his health concerns. I like this trade for you, you have plenty of depth at WR, and Sproles is a significant upgrade over your other flex options.

That could change my answer, but it would depend on your chances this year and your league’s keeper rules. Nicks has more keeper value than Sproles, for sure.

Definitely if it's PPR

The only thing that might stop you is if you’re on the edge of making the playoffs and really need Sproles, because NO’s bye is week 11. Either way, it’s still a pretty good trade. But like the two commenters above noted, you should see if you can get more.

personally, I wouldn’t even consider that…Rice and Jackson are at your RBs, and you have 5 WRs I’d play ahead of Sproles (and Bush, who’s a starter until McFadden’s back. And Ingram when he’s back will eat into Sproles’ production.) This would be an easy one for me (especially in a keeper league)

that is a turrible trade. nicks is top 5 when healthy. sproles isnt even top 15 hb.

that is not even a trade that a sane person would consider.
nicks hasnt had his breakout game this year, but thats because he’s been injured.
can u just tell me why you would think of doing this trade?

"when healthy" is a big problem with Nicks

When has he ever been healthy? He has been slowed all year by knee and hammy issues, so saying he’s top 5 when he’s healthy is like saying Ed Dickson is a top 5 TE when he catches a TD every game. It has no real-world application.

and no, saying he’s top 5 when he’s healthy isnt anything like whatever you said. that is just a very bad example.
its more like saying peyton manning is the best qb in the league when healthy.
nicks last year finished with 13 TD’s. 70+ catches and i believe it was a 1000 yard year, all that while missing a good 3-4 games.
ur example was atrocious. a better one would have been:
saying nicks is top 5 when healthy is like saying reggie bush is a game changer when healthy.
but either way. trading nicks for darren sproles is one of the dumbest one sided trades i have heard of in a while

The giants are about to go through a gauntlet of a tough schedule which could mean they will be passing even more than they do now to play catch up in some of these games. Or you could look at it as maybe nicks production will go down as the competition increases. Whichever way you want to look at it.
