More Dynasty Help

Thanks to everyone who commented on my first post, everything was pretty helpful.

From what you guys have said and what I have looked into on ProBoards starting a dynasty league sounds a WHOLE lot more complex than I originally thought. Apparently you have to set up the entire league yourself and control transactions and rosters on a forum?

I have only done fantasy leagues on ESPN and Yahoo where the site takes care of everything for you and you just make your moves. If this can't be done for a dynasty league I think I am way above my head (at least right now). If you guys have any advice or can give me some clarity it would be great. I'm a bit baffled right now. Haha sorry for being a keeper scrub.

Why don’t you just join someone else’s league? It’ll be easier for you and you can just focus on your own team.

People are always posting openings for dynasty leagues on faketeams.com join one you like.

being the commish of a keeper league is hard, you definitively need experience, in playing in one or two keeper leagues, so like Degan9 said, join someone`s keeper league, figure out how the system works. Maybe as you get comfortable with it even ask the commish if he needs help with some postings and integrate yourself that way so you have a feel for it. Trust me being the commish of your first ever dynasty league would not be fair for you nor would it be fair for your members.

makes a great point. Being a commissioner for the first time is not fun. You should join a league first, see how the league works, with all the rules and all. It is very important that all league members know the rules before the season starts, as all you need is that one owner who questions something to make life difficult for you.

for your help guys. That sounds a lot better than getting everything started myself. The reason I was going to is because a lot of people I know were also interested in doing a keeper league, but I will just do a regular redraft until I figure out keeper leagues for myself. Thanks for the advice.
