Fantasy Football 2011: Week 9 Start/Sit - All Fantasy Football Questions Answered Thread

Well, this is the last week before the Thursday games start and the second to last bye week. Chris Johnson is still not living up to our expectations. Joseph Addai might or might not play. And who knows how Matt Forte is going to fare against the Eagles. We'll give you our opinions and you send us your questions.

Think Forte is going to do good against the eagles.

There front line on D hasnt been that great and i think he might break off some nice runs.

10 team standard scoring league

I’m ranked 3rd and going up against the 2nd ranked team… but i’ve got problems. Megatron is on bye, Stafford is on bye (obviously), AJ is out, and DMc is out. Texans, Ravens, or Bengals D? And D. Murray, E. Doucet, or J. Ringer at flex? Thanks!!

Go Eagles!

by xADx GoGreen4Ever on Nov 5, 2011 4:27 PM EDT reply actions

Murray and Ringer are both facing tough defenses as Doucet is not…but he may be without his normal starting QB. So I would probably go with Murray on the principle he will see the most touches and perhaps be able to break one off and/or punch one in. I play in an IDP league so I will leave the defensive question to someone else.

I hope to join Claude Lemieux in Hell one day for a beer....

GoGreen4Ever

start Ravens defense- they killed Pittsburgh the last time. They will be bringing the heat.

start Murray- he’s facing the Seahawks and Dallas is still without Jones. I love his matchup.

14 team PPR league

Adrian Peterson on bye so….
Starting Sproles as RB1 and McGahee as RB2.
Starting V. Jackson as WR1 and D. Heyward-Bey as WR2.
Flex?
I have Nate Washington and Chris Ogbonnaya available for the Flex spot.
N. Washington is all or nothing and going up against the stiff Bengals D…Ogbonnaya is now the #1 RB on the Browns and good for his receiving skills but unproven and going up against a good Texans D. Opinions? Thanks.

I hope to join Claude Lemieux in Hell one day for a beer....

by HELLAWAITS on Nov 5, 2011 4:27 PM EDT reply actions

I'd go with Ogbonnaya

I like having a RB at Flex, and he’ll be sure to get a lot of carries.

GO ROCKIES!
I'm a believeR!

by HylianHero on Nov 6, 2011 1:34 AM EDT up reply actions

start Ogbonnaya

He is going to be getting almost all the touches for the Browns. He’s a really great choice for your flex spot.

by dukeallstar on Nov 6, 2011 10:22 AM EST up reply actions

8 team Standart scoring

Since Nicks is out, I have a flex spot open. Should I go with Julio Jones or Michael Bush? I’m leaning Bush because I like having an RB at Flex, and Jones is coming off an injury.

Secondly, someone dropped Matt Ryan and I picked him up, would you start him over Rivers?

GO ROCKIES!
I'm a believeR!

by HylianHero on Nov 5, 2011 6:10 PM EDT reply actions

Yes to both

Bush will have a very nice game against a terrible Broncos D, and Ryan should have his best game of the season against an absolutely atrocious Indy pass D. Rivers will be without Floyd, which can only hurt his already miserable performance.

by pooptallica on Nov 6, 2011 12:30 AM EDT up reply actions

I missed the boat on picking up Bush…wish I had him for this week. Start him. Common sense would say start Ryan and it is probably the “safer” choice of the two. Rivers could get in a shoot out and score high…but that is only a “could”….whereas Ryan is definitely playing against a crummy pass D.

I hope to join Claude Lemieux in Hell one day for a beer....

by HELLAWAITS on Nov 6, 2011 1:59 AM EDT up reply actions

HylianHero

start Bush. I think he’s going to run wild on the Broncos. With DMC out, he’s getting alot of the touches.

Start Ryan. He has a great matchup. they’re coming off the bye and it looks like Julio is healthy. I would start Ryan.

by dukeallstar on Nov 6, 2011 10:25 AM EST up reply actions

RB Help

My RBs are Blount, CJ, Mathews, and Green-Ellis

With each of them hurt, returning from being hurt, or just seeming to be inexplicably bad, which 2 should I start?

I am leaning toward Blount and CJ. CJ is bound to at least get his touches which would get me decent points, and I think that Green-Ellis will be a small part of the NE game plan due to injury and Faulk arrival.

by philsfreak6 on Nov 5, 2011 7:04 PM EDT reply actions

Blount and Law Firm

Faulk only had as many snaps last week as he did because the Pats had to pass so much. BJGE is still their main rusher. And Blount is healthy now and facing a Saints run D that is far from scary.

by pooptallica on Nov 6, 2011 12:31 AM EDT up reply actions

start Blount and Mathews

Blount is going to be used alot even on passing downs. If Mathews is out, start CJ.

I like Mathews even with the injury concern, since CJ has been putting up so little.

Help!!!!

Tebow or Fitzpatrick

and

Jets or Buffalo

Who do I start and why?

Thanks!

by Evil Empire on Nov 5, 2011 7:56 PM EDT reply actions

That's a tough one.

I’m going to say Tebow. Jets corners are much better than the Raiders. Hope that Tebow gets a rushing TD.

I’d go with the Buffalo D. I think they both will give up points, but I think FJax runs all over the Jets D.

GO ROCKIES!
I'm a believeR!

by HylianHero on Nov 6, 2011 1:35 AM EDT up reply actions

Thanks!

That is who I went wiyh myself it helps to hear from someone else!

by Evil Empire on Nov 6, 2011 8:49 AM EST up reply actions

evil empire

its close but I say start Fitz since Tebow has shown that he can turn in a real stinker while Fitzpatrick will at least do something since he’s a good quarterback even if the Jets have good corners

start Bills defense. They have been very opportunistic and Sanchez has really struggled at times. Plus he may be without Burress.

by dukeallstar on Nov 6, 2011 10:49 AM EST up reply actions

Must Win

12 team standard scoring..

Matt Ryan or Schaub??
With Nicks and Andre Johnson out, need two wr..

Baldwin and Decker.

Big matchup this week

Where does stevie johnson rank this week opposite Revis? Need to fill these three WR spots (already starting M. Austin)

-Stevie Johnson
-Antonio Brown
-Darrius Heyward-Bey
-James Jones
-Malcolm Floyd
-Eric Decker

Also, Carson Palmer or Cedric Benson in the flex?

Thanks guys

by jgweiss on Nov 5, 2011 10:17 PM EDT reply actions

Sorry forgot to mention

12 team PPR + bonus points for long receptions

by jgweiss on Nov 5, 2011 10:21 PM EDT up reply actions

Brown…tough Ravens D but Wallace will get the double teams.
Heyward-Bey…start him until he falters…which he hasn’t since week 3.
Johnson…he has had success against the Jets before and will be at home.
Carson Palmer in the flex…has had time to prepare and has the WR corp to succeed.

I hope to join Claude Lemieux in Hell one day for a beer....

GO ROCKIES!

coin toss

Who do you like best out of these? (pick 2 of each)
RB
Demarco Murray or Mendenhall or McGahee

WR
Nate Washington
Jon Baldwin
Darrius Hayward Bey
Mike Williams

by thegreatwhitehope on Nov 6, 2011 1:16 AM EDT reply actions

Murray/McGahee
Heyward-Bey/Williams

I hope to join Claude Lemieux in Hell one day for a beer....

by HELLAWAITS on Nov 6, 2011 1:05 AM EDT up reply actions

Murray and Mendenhall

McGahee’s hand is still in a cast. I think if he plays he still won’t be as effective. I’m worried about Mendy vs. the Ravens D though.

Heyward-Bey and Baldwin. Washington has a tough match-up, and I’m not starting Williams until I see something better.

GO ROCKIES!
I'm a believeR!

by HylianHero on Nov 6, 2011 1:37 AM EDT reply actions

I have Nate Washington and Greg Little

to fill out my #3 WR.

Have Maclin and VJax as the other two WR to start in a PPR league. Little’s getting the targets (and, as a UNC alum, he’s a bit of a homer pick) , but so is Washington.

by JoelGuzman'sScout on Nov 6, 2011 3:51 AM EDT reply actions

I have Little and Washington too but I think I may sit both of them in place of VJax and Heyward-Bey with a RB in the flex. I love the targets Little gets but somehow only can come down with less than half of them. Washington had a great game last weekend but faces a tough Cincy pass D now. I guess if I had to I would have to roll Washington just based on his overall performance to date.

I hope to join Claude Lemieux in Hell one day for a beer....

i have four slots and six players. the players are Forte, Jackie Battle, Anquan Boldin, DeSean Jackson, Mendenhall, and Chris Johnson. Which players do I start?

by eaglesphan4ever on Nov 6, 2011 11:13 AM EST reply actions

This is a good one

2nd RB: Kendall Hunter, Ryan Torian or take try to catch lightning in a bottle with Chris Ivory? I need this b/c Ryan Matthews will most likely be out.

by Big Chiefs on Nov 6, 2011 11:54 AM EST reply actions

16 team PPR

In flex :
Tomlinson
Damian Williams
or Patrick Crayton.

LT perform well against Buffalo, Crayton is starter witch Floyd out, and Williams is coming off a great game …

Thanks ;)
