My analysis of Round 6 after the jump:
I selected Jesus Montero in the 6th round, even though I can only keep him for 2 years at $7. I would have preferred to draft him in the 7th round, where I would get him for $6 for 5 years, but am sure he would have been selected before my next pick. I am taking a chance that he will be eligible at catcher in 2012, and I don't know why he wouldn't as he was a catcher throughout his minor league career, and should catch at least 10 games in 2012.
I think I mentioned in the Round 5 article, that the Blue Jays are cornering the market for catchers, as he drafted Matt Wieters in the 5th round, and Mauer in the 6th. His choices probably caused other owners, including me, to focus on catcher in this round. I actually thought about taking Reds catcher Devin Mesoraco here, but thought he could fall to me in the 7th round, but that was wishful thinking, as he was selected before my pick came up.
Before selecting Montero, I also thought about drafting Mat Latos, Jason Kipnis and Josh Johnson, so I was not the only one looking at them, I see. Looking back, maybe I should have drafted a pitcher here, as the contract is for only two years.
I like the Rangers choice of Alex Rodriguez in this round, as he could bounce back after a down power year in 2011, and if he doesn't, the contract is only for two years.
I have to say it is getting more difficult to make a pick as each round is completed, as this is my first 16 team league draft. I am used to 10 or 12 team leagues, so the talent pool thins out much quicker in deeper leagues.

the round 7 ($6/5 years) talent pool got raided this round
Avila, Jesus, Latos, Kipnis, Jones all would have been nice on the 5-year deal in the next round.

Did i take Johnson too early?
I didnt really need another SP, but i thought it was worth the 2 year contract gamble to go for a potential top 10 SP here.
not in my opinion
I liked him there too.

It's a high-upside risk
I mean, he probably wouldn’t have been taken in the 7th, with the 5-year contracts, but probably wouldn’t have lasted to you in the 8th. I mean, you’re going to have to draft an extra pitcher to back him up, but he could be an absolute stud.
I loved
getting Rollins for 2 years in this round. What do you guys think?

Liked the Rollins pick a lot. I almost took him over Miguel Montero but youth broke the tie.
