Trade Help Please
I have a pretty good team, we're 6-2 after this week, and my team is as follows:
QB: Stafford, Tebow, Flacco
RB: AP, S. Jackson, Murray, Greene
WR: Colston, V. Jackson, Austin, Nelson, Cruz, Harvin
TE: Graham, Gronkowski
K: Hanson
DEF: Philly
And before anyone asks, it's a twelve team keeper league (only three keeper spots to keep the draft fun, and we can trade draft picks) with big benches for some reason, and 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1K, 1DEF, 1QWRT. Strange league, I know.
I have all my picks except my two which I gave up in a deal to get Greene, because I play the number one team next week (APs bye). So, I was offered Maclin 2 and 8 for Cruz 1 and 4, by a team that's not making the playoffs this year. Do I take this? I was going to counter Maclin 2 9 for Cruz 1 5 just so I have a draft next year, which is a lot better for me. I hope y'all can help, and I hope this makes sense, this was the simplest way of saying this, which says something.
I'm trying to make a big push to win this year, and so I'm making big trades.

I would do it
You’re playing to win this year, and your 3 keepers (assuming Stafford, AP, and J. Graham) are a nice core, so losing your 1st round pick, while gaining a 2nd round pick won’t hurt you much next year. The upgrade from Cruz to Maclin is definitely worth it.
Appreciate the feedback man.

"You know Joe, if Keith Jardines last name was Johnson, the nickname 'The Dean of Mean' wouldn't work at all."
But if you're 3 starting WRs are VJax, Miles Austin, and Marques Colston...
Then you don’t have much of a need for Maclin

Rivers has stunk it up this year, and has thrown a lot more to Floyd.
Also, I don’t have a regular flex play, and this gives me a lot of flexibility to play match ups. Having too many good players at a position is always a good thing in football due to the injuries, I find.

I would take Maclin over any one of those
Maclin has been more consistent, which is a huge plus for a WR in fantasy. Plus, in a 3 WR league, I’d be happy to have a bench player of the caliber of any of those 4.
