Battle v. Graham v. McGahee
So I took the advice of the waiver pickups column last week and put in claims on both Jackie Battle and Earnest Graham...and ended up with both of them. Now I've got Willis McGahee coming off the bye week and I'm wondering which to start at my RB2 spot. I figure its McGahee, but Graham had a nice week and I'm not sure what to expect from Battle, so any thoughts would be great.
-Battle v. OAK
-Graham v. CHI
-McGahee v. MIA

start mcgahee
mcgahee will lose some value b/c tebow is likely to steal carries at the goaline but he is still the unquestioned starter and will get all the rb carries… that makes him a better play than battle based on his touches and although graham looked good last week, and the bears defense has allowed a good amount of pts to rb’s this yr, they are still better than the dolphins i believe…. mcgahee is your best bet

High upside with Battle safe bet Graham
In the three starts Tebow had last year between Moreno and Buckhalter they only scored 33 points combined and 21 of them came from Buckhalter in the 2nd start. Keep in mind that Tebow will become the goal line back, and with the lack to stretch the field Mcgahee will be facing 8 man fronts all day. On top of that the Dolphins haven’t allowed 100 yards rushing total in the past three weeks.
Graham is the most interesting because he his a big part of the passing game, and whether the Bucs are up or down he will be on the field. Last week he topped 100 yards against the Saints #14 ranked run defense this week he faces the Bears 22nd Ranked rush defense. Personally I feel he is the safest bet out of all three.
The highest upside goes to Battle; however in his first start he faced the colts 30th ranked run defense, and now he is facing a Raiders run defense that is surprisingly ranked 16th against the run. What I like about Battle is that he was on the field the entire game while the chiefs were playing from behind which shows me that they trust him in pass protection.
If I were to choose I would take Graham last week he didn’t score a touchdown, but still had 100 yards rushing and added 20 yards receiving. He is a safer bet not to put up a goose egg for you, and is a clear bell cow for this week.
