Either guy would only be playing UTL on my roster. My positions are filled.
Carlos Quentin seems to be a major tease. The power potential is great, but he seems to get hurt a lot and has posted poor batting averages. Apparently he has been a little unlucky with the BABIP, however, I don't see much improvement if he continues to hit pop ups. It seems like a long time ago, but he was huge in 2008 The talent is there, but health and consistency is not.
Derrek Lee recently signed with the Orioles and goes to a favorable hitting environment. My guess is that Showalter will most likely put him either 3/4/5 in the lineup, which should be good for runs/rbis. The concern is that he will be 36 this year and is coming off thumb surgery. Despite a bad 2010 campaign, he is only a year removed from .300+ 30+hr in 2009.
Who do you prefer to play in the UTL spot of your lineup? The young injury prone kid or declining vet?
Any projections for each?
