Fantasy Baseball: Adam Jones Trade Offer
In my 14 team keeper league, I received a trade offer for my recently acquired Adam Jones.
5x5 roto league, keep everyone on the roster
I give: Adam Jones
I receive: Jonny Gomes and the rights to Lars Anderson
Now, I am already in rebuilding mode, so Anderson would be a nice prospect to have.
My current 1B: Derrek Lee, Ike Davis
My current OF: Adam Lind, Michael Bourn, Adam Jones, Will Venable, Nate McLouth (DL)
Minor leaguers who have been playing these positions: Ryan Westmoreland, Michael Taylor
To me, this trade seems like a bad idea, but knowing that I just acquired Jones I may be overvaluing him.
Would you do this trade, or am I right that it's not enough in return for the struggling Jones?

I agree. Jones is the guy you want to keep. Gomes is having a good year, but the Reds have an abundance of outfielders in the minors. One of their better prospects, Yonder Alonso, is playing LF at AAA Louisville currently, so he could have a shot at the LF job in 2010. But, based on his performance to date, not likely, unless his power returns. He did have a wrist injury last year, so he could be taking longer to regain his power stroke.

I would not want Anderson
if you want to put your future in the hands that hits like Doug Mienkiewitz, then be my guest, but I’d hold onto Jones.
"That's not a weird stat. Rickie is a run-scorer," Yost said. "It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter," Yost told reporters. "See, you guys have no concept. He's a run-scorer. So there's nothing weird about it. That's what he does."
