What now? NL Roto 5x5 draft disaster
I took on an expansion team in a 12 Team NL Only 5x5 keeper. I got priced out on a lot of players and ended up with a really thin offense, but I'm overloaded with starting pitching. I'm doing well in pitching categories(12/12/11/10/6), but I'm getting smoked in offense(4/1/1/1/1) because of a lack of ABs. So far my trade negotiations have gotten no where. I was offered Giovanny Soto for three starers(Latos, Pelfrey, and Perez) and Spilsborugh for Latos.
What can I expect to get in return for any of the following SPs:
Halladay, Latos, Lannan, Bailey, Leake, Pelfrey, Oliver Perez, and Zito
After one trade offer, I had the LABR and Tout prices thrown in my face for being an unreasonable trade. Teams which carry 50% middle relief pitching laugh at my offers...
Should I just stand pat and demand full time ABs or should I panic and firesale?
Notes on the league:
- Although this league is a keeper league, you can only keep three players a year and then there is a 2 round draft of all keeper available players. So salaries going into next year are of not much concern
- Each team is allowed an unlimited Reserve roster, however only two players can be active. The rest must be on the DL, Released, or in the Minors.

those
are some shitty pitchers
how are u doing so well?
the guy besides halladay who has the most value is zito
if he has a few more quality outings, try to trade him
the rest of ur pitchign staff sucks unfortunately
perhaps play for next year?
yikes!
That pitching staff is playing way over their head right now. Who knows, maybe Pelfrey could turn things around this year. But you only have two starters who will pitch for teams that could break .500. What does your offense and relievers look like? Also, what starting players are available in your league? If you have DL spots available, are there currently any decent offensive players available who are on the DL? I would not give up hope on offense. You may do better unloading some of the pitchers like Zito and Perez for some offense. But most likely there will be some offensive players come available as FA’s. Just keep an eye out who is available.
