Jerry Manuel on first base prospect Ike Davis
The promising first baseman Ike Davis already has 12 total bases in 13 at-bats, including one towering blast that Manuel said was hit as far as any ball he has seen at Port St. Lucie. Manuel said Davis could also prompt him to rethink plans to send him down to Class AAA Buffalo if he continues to hit the way he has.
If he isn't sent down, is he a 1st round pick in the UBA minor league draft?

yes
I think he is a 1st round pick in the minor league draft if for no other reason he has a clear and quick path to playing time since the Murphy/Jacobs/Tatis triple threat isn’t much of a roadblock.
I saw one AB from Davis today, he smacked a Ron Villone (lefty) pitch off the wall to left center. Even though 1) I am not a scout and 2) it was a sample size of 1 Davis looked pretty good to me.
It would be really dumb not to get him AAA time though but since this is the Mets, chances are he is in the opening day line-up at Citi field.
