Fantasy Baseball: Spring Training Update
Late post today. Late night last night. Found a new Irish Pub about 20 minutes from my house. Busy day today. St. Patty's Day Parade at 1pm. More Guiness.
Andy Martino, from the Philadelphia Inquirer, on prospect Dominic Brown:
Top prospect Domonic Brown made his first start of the spring yesterday against Toronto and impressed manager Charlie Manuel.
At the plate, Brown was 2 for 4 with two RBIs. In the outfield, he threw out two runners.
"He's going to be a good player," Manuel said. "He has a lot of tools. He can throw and hit. He's got power. He's got to keep playing and keep getting better."
Clark Spencer, from the Miami Herald, on prospect Michael Stanton:
In what was possibly a sneak preview for Opening Day in 2012, Maybin, Stanton and Chris Coghlan started in the three outfield positions for the Marlins on Friday.
And they contributed to the Marlins' 4-3 victory over the New York Mets in 10 innings, with Stanton belting a two-run home run in the top of the 10th inning after Maybin led off the inning with a double.
Mark Topkin, from the St. Petersburg Times, on Jeremy Hellickson:
Twenty-three pitches. One and one-third innings. One hit, a triple by a backup catcher named Francisco Cervelli. Two strikeouts, a couple of guys named Derek Jeter (who flailed at a nasty curve) and Mark Teixeira (on a gutsy full-count changeup).
"Liked it," Maddon said.
"Very impressive," Rays pitching coach Jim Hickey said.

Early St. Paddy's
Unless that eathquake really changed time, isn’t a week early for St. Patrick’s Day parade?
