Fantasy Baseball: Will Lance Berkman Bounce Back In 2010?
After posting a 24-82-.293 line back in 2005, Lance Berkman went off in 2006, going 45-136-.315. In 2009, Berkman went 25-80-.274 in 460 ABs. Since his 2006 season, Berkman's HR/RBI totals have gone south: 2006-45/136, 2007-34/102, 2008-29/106, 2009-25/80. Somehow, I don't think he will duplicate his 2006 season in 2010, especially after reading this from Will Carroll'sTwitter account last night:
Big worries about Berkman's knee. "Bruise" with no trauma indicates arthritic problems inside knee.

Do you expect Berkman to bounce back and wouldnt it make more sense to take him in the 6th as my 1b rather than the likes of VMart in the 4th?

I expect Berkman to be a terrific value this season, and yes, if you’re using Victor Martinez at first base (which you shouldn’t), then Berkman two rounds better is … well, better.
