Fantasy Baseball: Jason's 3B Rankings

  1. Alex Rodriguez (Yankees)
  2. Evan Longoria (Rays)
  3. David Wright (Mets)
  4. Mark Reynolds (Diamondbacks)
  5. Kevin Youkilis (Red Sox)
  6. Ryan Zimmerman (Nationals)
  7. Pablo Sandoval (Giants)
  8. Gordon Beckham (White Sox)
  9. Aramis Ramirez (Cubs)
  10. Chone Figgins (Mariners)
  11. Michael Young (Rangers)
  12. Ian Stewart (Rockies)
  13. Jorge Cantu (Marlins)
  14. Casey Blake (Dodgers)
  15. Chipper Jones (Braves)
  16. Adrian Beltre (Red Sox)
  17. Chase Headley (Padres)
  18. Troy Glaus (Braves)
  19. Mike Lowell (Red Sox)
  20. Mark DeRosa (Giants)

My thoughts:

  • I think that Aramis Ramirez will return to form this season and back to being a 30-100 power hitting 3B.
  • Jorge Cantu seems like a forgotten player, but he did drive in 100 runs last year and is eligible at 1B as well.
  • I am not sold on Adrian Beltre returning to form. I don't have a particularly good reason for that, and there's nothing really I can point to about it, but I'm just not feeling it.
  • I ranked Mike Lowell on the assumption that he's still going to get traded somewhere with playing time. He can be productive assuming he does.
  • If you draft Chipper Jones, make sure you remember he's probably only going to play between 120 and 140 games. He's not particularly likely to play more than that based on his history.
  • I like Ian Stewart to have a better year this season now that he knows he's got a full-time job all but sewn up.
  • David Wright could be a top-10 player again if he can find even some of the power he had before. I think he'll do it.
  • I love Troy Glaus as a sleeper this season. If he stays healthy (yes, that's a big IF), he could post a 30-HR season.

There's not a lot of 3B help coming from the minors, as both Pedro Alvarez and Brett Wallace are both widely thought to be moved to 1B at the Major League level.

Where would Figgins rank among 2B? If he’s 10th here, he’s top 10 2B, right?

Looking at my rankings for 2B

From here

I would say Figgins would probably be either at 10 or 11.

He qualifies

41 games, which is probably a result of Chipper playing 3B :)

Whoops

Honestly, I forgot that Prado qualifies at 3B. I would probably have him at 13 or 14.

I believe they can be hidden or flagged for removed. But, I’m not positive.

Not sure what happened

I never saw another one – the deleted comment above was the only one that was here when I got to it – I was out most of yesterday too.

Definitely only options I’ve got are to flag or hide, which I just now found out I could do.

Ray

You guys had a small spam attack so I hid and reported the comments. It was not the post he’s referring to (not even in this post,) but just keep an eye out. Someone spamming a clothing site or something.

The users

I looked at the users info – it’s pretty much all over SBNation too. I’ve been flagging and hiding any I’ve seen also.

Chipper’s 100 healthy games will thrump Case Blakes’s 150 + games..

I don’t believe Mark Reynolds will match his 2009 numbers , I see him putting up his 2008 numbers with a bit better homeruns and avg…
