Dynasty Trade Offer
I'm in a 20 team dynasty h2h points league. My record this past year was 18-3, lost in the semi-finals. I'm looking to get rid of Furcal, since his value is diminishing quick in dynasty. I have an owner somewhat interested in him, who has Alcidies Escobar. I got an interesting offer from him.
I get: Alcidies Escobar, Jeremy Guthrie, Jake McGee (MiLB)
I give: Rafael Furcal, Gavin Floyd, Andrew Cashner (MiLB)
I already have Castro as my main SS, but this might be the best I can get for Furcal, especially in a dynasty league. I might counter or ask to tweak it up. But I see it as... Escobar >>> Furcal, Jones > Gutierrrez, Floyd > Guthrie. Jones and Gutierrrez are close to me, but I'd give the nod to Jones. Should I counter with Furcal/Jones or Furcal/Floyd for the other guys? I'm seriously considering it, but might ask to tweak.
Thoughts? WHIR as always
My roster looks as follows:
Major League Baseball (20 team h2h points dynasty league, 25 players, 4 DL)

1B: Miguel Cabrera
2B: Howie Kendrick
3B: Adrian Beltre
SS: Starlin Castro
LF: Denard Span
CF: Adam Jones
RF: Justin Upton
UTIL: Brett Gardner
Bench: Rafael Furcal, Felipe Lopez, Will Venable
DL:
SP: Tommy Hanson, Derek Lowe, Ubaldo Jimenez, Rick Porcello, Jair Jurrjens, Matt Garza, Gio Gonzalez, Phil Hughes, Kris Medlen, Gavin Floyd
RP: Jose Valverde, Jonathon Broxton, Kevin Gregg
MiLB:
Bats: Jesus Montero, Jose Iglesias, Ruben Tejada, Chris Nelson, Mike Trout, Brett Jackson, Francisco Peguero, and Aaron Cunningham

Alcides
I see him hitting better than he did in Milw in 2010, and stealing alot more bases. I think Macha held down the running game in MILW in 2010….fair deal I think.

I say no
I have no confidence in Escobar’s bat ever being fantasy-worthy, but big confidence in Cashner being more valuable than McGee (more likely to be a starter, maybe a tick less stuff but pitching in a much easier division.) Floyd >> Guthrie. Furcal is very valuable if he’s healthy. That would be a pretty quick no from me.
understand
I voted for making the deal, with the reason that i think Escobar will have a better season at the plate in 2011 than in 2010. The other factor is Furcal is a health risk, as he has been hurt in 2 of his past 3 seasons in LA due to various injuries, including a back injury that continued to bother him last year. I agree, Furcal is very valuable when healthy, but that is a big if in my eyes.

I don't see how that makes your team better
You are acquiring a player in Escobar that on your current roster would sit the bench. You then downgrade the SP in the deal – I think Floyd has huge upside where Guthrie is really as good as he is going to be. As far as the prospects, I think they are close with teh edge to Cashner since he will likely get a chance to start this year.
I would try to bring in another OF or CI instead of Escobar since it is unlikely that Escobar would ever get much of a shot to start on your team. You could also look to try and upgrade at SP instead – just my two cents.
Furcal
I think you should get what you can get. I don’t know you, but I have a feeling you have asked each and every owner in there multiple times if they want Furcal and they have said no, multiple times. Prospects are prospects, they are a dime a dozen. The only part you lose is Floyd, but you have to give to get. I hate the “good when healthy” moniker, especially one that hasn’t been healthy in years.
I agree with this.
With any luck Escobar gets off to a hot start and you can move him. The last time he appeared on a BA prospect list he was the highest ranked ss and that should carry some weight.
Losing Floyd hurts, but middle of the rotation starters are pretty easy to find and you can make up most of his value.
i'm eager to see which of you is going to put his jacket down first so as to ensure the other’s dress doesn’t get wet. by craigws
