I'm rebuilding my dynasty team. I have the 5th pick in the draft, but may pick higher because of trade offers. These 5 players are available - Bryce Harper, Mike Trout, Jameson Taillon, Manny Machado, and Gary Sanchez. If I can trade for the first pick, it is a no-brainer - Harper. But If I can't get the first pick it becomes a difficult decision for me. I'm not as high as most people are on Trout( for fantasy), and I need a catcher more than a SS, so I may go with Sanchez. The most difficult player for me to evaluate is Taillon, for several reasons. Pitchers are more prone to injuries (Strasburg, Parker), and their development has more pitfalls; especially for a high school pitcher with no pro experience. Young pitchers are just so risky. So that brings me to the subject of this post. If you are rebuilding a dynasty team is it a good strategy to go for the hitters first and then trade your surplus hitters, later, for pitchers?
