I imagine he will begin the year in AAA, but wonder if they will have him start the year in AA to refine his approach at the plate for a few months.
He may not hit for a high BA from the start, but with Lopes on board, I can see him stealing alot of bases.

Even if the BA isn’t terribly high, if he gets work on plate discipline and has a high OBP, that is where the SB value will be…
We saw a similar thing with Juan Pierre this year – he struggled mightily for the first half of the season but was still valuable with the SB numbers… as the season went on, his BA and OBP went up and he was an even bigger threat on the basepaths to lead the majors in steals…
Do you see Dee as a similar guy with a similar body frame? A great leadoff hitter is a terribly valuable asset for a team to have.
