Arizona Fall League Roundup: Derek Norris Drives In 5

Stay connected for news and updates

I got a late start to the AFL roundup, but before I get to the top performances, here is a quote from Kevin Goldstein from Baseball Prospectus on a Phillies pitching prospect:

Justin De Fratus, RHP, Phillies (AFL: Solar Sox): 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K). One of the best sleepers in the Phillies system; pure power righty has mid-90s heat and AFL hitters are 0-for-9 with five strikeouts against him.

Could we see him in the Phillies bullpen in 2011?

Here's a quick look at the top performers from Thursday's action:

Jason Kipnis, CLE-1-4, RS

Eric Thames, CLE-0-5, 2 Ks

Koby Clemens, 1-3, HR, RS, RBI, BB, SB

Josh Harrison, PIT-3-5, RS, RBI, SB

Tony Sanchez, PIT-0-3, 2 BB

Kirk Nieuwenhuis, NYM-2-5

Josh Vitters, CHC-0-4, RS, BB, K, SB

Andrew Romine, LAA-2-3, RS, SB

Johnny Giavotella, KC-2-5, 2 RS

Ben Guez, 2-4, RS, 2 RBI, HR, BB

Adron Chambers, 3-3, 2 RS, 3 SB
