Fantasy Football Dilemma
14 team. PPR. Simple scoring (no >100 yd bonuses, etc...). Pass TD = 4. 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, NO Flex.
My team is currently
QB: Favre, Kitna
WR: Boldin, Lee Evans, Michael Jenkins, Louis Murphy, Denario Alexander
RB: Chris Johnson, Jahvid Best, Cedric Benson, Javon Ringer, Bernard Scott, Deji Karim, Ken Darby,
TE: Zach Miller
Looking at two potential offers, with the general goal of upgrading my WRs. I would prefer to move Benson or Best for a WR, but after shopping them around I'm convinced I can't get value, whereas I'm getting surprisingly great offers for Chris Johnson. The offers:
1)
I give: Chris Johnson, Javon Ringer
I get: Santana Moss, Joe Flacco, Fred Jackson and CJ. Spiller
2)
I give: Chris Johnson, Javon Ringer
I get: Peyton Hillis, Mike Williams (TB), Jeremy Maclin
Both offers appeal to me... seems like I'm picking up some nice assets for trading down about 10 options at RB. I'm not convinced Hillis or Jackson are much worse than Chris Johnson, to tell you the truth. I just don't have a lot of faith in CJ breaking out this season. I'm sure he'll burn me a couple times, but team are really stacking the box against him. Either trade leaves me with 3 good RBs that I can play matchups with and I don't think its going to cost me many points from my RBs the rest of the way.
I initially wanted to upgrade WR and QB... but I'm feeling better about both Favre and Kitna. Either of these trades leaves me with great depth, an improved starting lineup and assets to trade if another need arises (such as wanting to upgrade QB or an injury). I've had very bad luck with WRs. Drafted Housh as my WR2 and then had Mark Clayton...
Anyways, really would appreciate some feedback. Please remember this is a 14 team league.

I was also given the choice of Eli or Flacco in offer #1, fwiw.
I like Flacco’s remaining schedule more and Eli always seems to fade down the stretch in cold weather. Not sure we’ve seen the best of the Ravens pass attack yet either.
I think I’m leaning towards trade offer #2…

I would say offer #2 is def. the best bet.
Williams and Maclin could both produce WR2 numbers and Hillis is going to get all the carries in Cle.
However, with the rise of Kenny Britt CJ could see some more running room in the future (I’m a CJ owner as well). But, with that said, I still think thats a good return for him in your league.

I prefer offer #1
If you want to upgrade your QB go with offer 1, Moss is not that much of an upside as a receiver though.
Offer #2 does give you some receivers but I would think you could get better value for Chris Johnson.
Thanks for the advice.
I did not pull the trigger on either… held onto CJ. Picked up Brandon Gibson and Brandon LeFell – worked out pretty damn well!
Still itchy to make a move next week though… hopefully I get someone to bite on Benson…
