I was checking out the recent 5x5 mixed league mock draft results over at Rotosynthesis and saw that Felix Hernandez was chosen in the first round, 6th overall, ahead of Tim Lincecum, Zack Greinke and Roy Halladay,

Here are their 2009 stats:

Name W ERA IP K/9 BB/9 K/BB HR/9 AVG WHIP BABIP LOB% ERA xFIP
Zack Greinke 16 2.16 229.1 9.5 2 4.75 0.43 0.232 1.07 0.313 79.30% 2.16 3.15

If anyone says someone other than Lincecum, they’re wrong.

Agreed

There’s no plausible argument against Lincecum and his back to back 260 K seasons. Felix is a true stud but his ceiling is not as high as Lincecum’s. Halladay has been great for 2 years in a row but people are seemingly forgetting about his lack of strikeout ability several years ago and the fact that he has been injured. Greinke? No thanks. I’ll take the guy with the pedigree and track record. I’d take Haren over Greinke.

Another note on Halladay. His GB rate has been eroding a bit, especially in the 2nd half last season. Could just be a reversible blip, but if it’s not, he might be in a bit of trouble in that ballpark.

very intuitive of you

I voted Lincy, but can definitely see a case for Halladay moving from the AL East to the NL. I don’t think a 20 Win season for Roy is a ridiculous goal.

How can you assume that Halladay moving to the NL wont put him over the top?

If Lincecum can do what he does in that league, Halladay can 1-up him, no questions asked.

Have to agree....

Late pick first round 10+ teams in my book….I could however see a stint on the DL i mean its bound to happen

Why is patience a virtue and procrastination a sin...I mean whats wrong with patiently procrastionating?
