Leon Washington for Clinton Portis?
So one guy in my league is tired of Portis not producing and is wiling to trade him for what he can get. I offered Leon Washington and he said he'd probably accept, but I told him I wanted to look into Portis' injury situation a bit more.
So I feel like this is a good buy low opportunity, but I'm worried that I may be overvaluing Portis just because he is a big name. He has struggled mightily so far, is hurt, and the Skins are having all sorts of problems. On the other hand Leon has gotten a lot of touches on offense this year but hasn't gotten too much red zone work.
What do you think, is this a good trade or has Portis declined too much for it to be worth it? This is a .5 PPR league with 3 bonus points for 100 yards rushing or receiving, otherwise it's standard scoring.

Tougher than it should be.
Seemed like a no-brainer before the year, no?
Here’s an interesting stat to consider that can’t benefit Portis: Jason Campbell was a perfect 7-of-7 for 54 yards using a no-huddle offense against the Lions, and 11-of-12 for 91 yards with six first downs and two scores on the year out of it. Much has been made of the not-so-astute run blocking by the Redskins, either.
I think it’s almost a toss-up at this point. Their total yardage has been fairly similar. It’s ultimately your call; a lot of risk right now, but if you pulled the trigger on it I wouldn’t have a big problem with it.

Going with no
After some deliberation, I’m saying no. I’m down on the Redskins, down on their offensive line, down on the whole team. I’m even down on the play-calling. I’d rather have Washington incredibly I think, at least in this format. I think I still take Portis if not for the PPR, but it’s THAT close.

Barber, Lynch, Moreno, Lendale White, and Jamaal Charles

I would probably vote “no” then.
Barber is a lock to start when healthy, Lynch might be because he will get touches and he did catch 47 passes last year. White is going to be hit or miss with GL duty, and Charles is a handcuff guy as the Chiefs will pass a lot.
To me: Moreno, Portis, and Washington sort of give you the same thing, and Washington will probably get more receptions than the three, and Moreno probably has more upside.
But obviously it’s your call

I voted no
Washington is going to be playing from behind a lot this year, hence throwing the ball more. I’d stick with Leon based on opportunity. It’s a weak reason, but it’s what I went with
"That's not a weird stat. Rickie is a run-scorer," Yost said. "It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter," Yost told reporters. "See, you guys have no concept. He's a run-scorer. So there's nothing weird about it. That's what he does."
When I say Washington is playing from behind
I meant the Redskins, not Leon

Actually Leon will explode soon
Portis is done. I know everyone thought that last year and look what he did. Him and LJ are officially washed up. I like Charles and Beanie Wells to win their starting jobs respectively by the end of the season.Thomas Jones isnt even better than Leon and if you just hold off I think Leon will be a great surprise. He will score his 1st TD of the season this week. DO you get points for PR/KR?
