Barber Out - Week 3 RB Sit/Start

Okay, so Marion Barber is out 1-2 weeks and he is my top RB so I'm in a bit of trouble this week at least.

I have Marshawn Lynch, but he's still suspended another game. So my two starting RB's have to be from this group (.5 PPR league):

Leon Washington (vs. Titans)
Lendale White (@ Jets)
Knowshon Moreno (@ Raiders)
Jamaal Charles (@ Eagles)

My league is pretty deep so the best RB's on the waiver wire are Justin Forsett, Justin Fargas, Patrick Cobbs, Lamont Jordan, Michael Bennett, Adrian Peterson the lesser, Larod Stephens-Howling, Deshawn Wynn, Xavier Oman, Brandon Jackson, etc. Basically, nothing.

Are any of those guys worth a pickup? I was going to drop Deion Branch for Mike Walker (because Troy Williamson is out for the season so Walker should be a starter) but given my emergency situation at RB should I drop Branch for one of these guys instead? I can't really see any of them doing much, except maybe Forsett as the year goes on if Julius Jones continues to disappoint. Any of them worth it? Or is there any other deep, deep sleeper that is completely unnoticed but could get some playing time? (Please, no suggestions like Tashard Choice, guys like that are long gone.)

Given my terrible options (both on my team and on the waiver wire), who would you start? I'm thinking Moreno and Leon Washington.

Any advice? (Other than the obvious, go cry and accept your loss this week)

Any help is extremely appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Moreno and Washington are the right choices.

Even in a non-PPR league, Moreno seems like the best option.

He had the majority of carries in Week 2 (17 to Buckhalter’s 9), and should get the majority of the carries from here on out. Oakland’s run defense has looked decent but even Larry Johnson gained a fair amount of yardage behind a fairly poor Chiefs offensive line.

Behind that, you have to go with Washington. I like him to do more through the air this week than anything, so that bodes well. The Titans pass defense has gotten torched in the first two weeks, so look for screen plays to set him up for plays.

+1

But, Barber may play this week. He looks like a game time decision, however. If he is still considered a game time decision or worse on Sunday morning, I’d play Moreno.

NBC 5 in Dallas reports that Barber is definitely out this week

and perhaps even the next.

"That's not a weird stat. Rickie is a run-scorer," Yost said. "It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter," Yost told reporters. "See, you guys have no concept. He's a run-scorer. So there's nothing weird about it. That's what he does."

Right on

No question – Moreno and Leon are the right choices. I’m picking up Mike Sims-Walker, too – the guy has a lot of ability he just hasn’t been able to stay healthy. I like his prospects because the Jags D can’t stop anyone and they don’t have many other good options to throw the ball to.

I like Brandon Jackson for PPR leagues. Ryan Grant lets face it hes not that good. I see Brandon Jackson a good fill in for byes

Jags are run team Mike will not be consistant enough for a viable start every week

well...

The Jags would like to be a run team – so would the other 31 teams in the NFL. Unfortunately, when you’re defense can’t stop anyone and you’re down 14-17 points, you have to pass. The Jags D ain’t what it used to be.
