Fantasy Football: Is Calvin Johnson Overrated?
Detroit Lions WR Calvin Johnson produced 1,331 yards and 12 TDs without the benefit of a mediocre QB and no other receiving threats. This has made him a 1st round pick in most leagues that value WRs.
I admit to loving him this season, but should I be worried about his 78 receptions in a PPR format? Typically, 100 receptions is the gold standard for elite PPR WRs.

please help learn me
but i have always kind of thought that in PPR leagues, you should devalue the top WR’s because all WR’s score alot of points. I know that I am wrong on this because apparently every expert disagrees, but please share why?
For example: Wes Welker (TJ H, even) might, and is a good bet to catch 25-30 more passes than CJ this year, no? He won’t quite even out the difference in TD’s with that, but he certainly evens out the difference in draft value.
In my experience PPR leagues has a much greater effect on where you draft RB’s and TE’s than it does WR’s.
Again, please correct me, i take criticism well. Let me have it.

PPR
In a PPR, I am looking at an elite TE in the 5th round and usually get one by the 7th round at the latest. By elite, I mean a fair expectation of 80+ receptions.
By the 5th round of most drafts, the best WRs are typically gone. What’s left is the Lee Evans and jerricho Cotcherys of the world, and I’d rather have Jason Witten or Tony Gonzalez.
