Preseason Fantasy Football Rankings: TEs 1-10
This story about Henry Louis Gates and the Cambridge Police is a tough one. It involves complex and difficult themes about race, authority and emotion. But you know what I think?
I think the live draft at Gates's fantasy football league must be a blast.

1 |
Clark, Dallas |
IND |
Having him on your fantasy team is like having a second WR2. |
|
2 |
Witten, Jason |
DAL |
The foundation of the Dallas passing game. |
|
3 |
Gates, Antonio |
SD |
The offense has always been based around him. If the running game falters this season, how does it affect him? |
|
4 |
Gonzalez, Tony |
ATL |
He won't put the 1000 yards we're accustomed to because the Falcons offense is centered on him. He'll still be a great fantasy TE though. |
|
5 |
Keller, Justin |
NYJ |
He's going to be Mark Sanchez's outlet this year, something Sanchez will desperately need. |
|
6 |
Boss, Kevin |
NYG |
With the experienced WRs gone, Eli needs him more than ever. He could have a huge season. |
|
7 |
Olsen, Greg |
CHI |
Jay Cutler will lean on him a lot this season |
|
8 |
Cooley, Chris |
WAS |
If the young WRs step up, he'll be doing more blocking and less catching |
|
9 |
Carlson, John |
SEA |
He'll have a diminished role with TJ Houshmandzadeh in the lineup. Still pretty good though. |
|
10 |
Daniels, Owen |
HOU |
Quiet and reliable, he's a solid choice if you punt TE until late in your draft. |

I think the Raiders TE Zach Miller has a claim to be on the list...

Wow, I don't think I've ever seen Clark listed as the top TE
Be careful....to a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

Primed for huge ’09 with Marvin gone
I expect to see him on the top of many lists this season

It’s a shame Dustin Keller was left off the list.

Typo time
Uh yeah, about Keller. I think he’s primed for a big year. I’ve just secretly disguised him as “Justin Keller” at #5 so my league mates won’t know I like him (d’oh!)

Kellen Winslow, anyone?
Why on earth was a sure-fire top-three, or at least five, tight end left out of your top 10?
And what exactly did that Gates joke mean?

Are you sure?
a sure-fire top-three, or at least five, tight end
Please tell me that you are in my league and planning to pick Winslow as the third best tight end. He MIGHT be top 10, but to say top 3 or 5 I think is a bit of wishful thinking. Who should he be in front of? Gonzalez? Gates? Witten? Clark?
However, I think that Keller and Boss are ranked WAY too highly. I just don’t see how you can look at what Boss did last year and see the #6 tight end. I would find that hard to believe.
As far as Keller, ask Packers fans how tight ends who seem to perform well disappear the year after Favre leaves.

Boss
Really, who else is Manning going to throw to? Can you show me a more polished receiver in the Giants lineup? Steve Smith? A rookie? Dominek Hixon maybe?
I know it sounds crazy, but there really isn’t anybody else.

Gates
I think anybody who would berate a cop (rightly or wrongly) so badly that he gets arrested (rightly or wrongly) would be a blast to have at a fantasy football draft.
Anybody that angry would be loads o’ fun.

I don't see Clark over Witten
Or Boss deserving to be on the list at all.
