MLB Trade Rumors: Nyjer Morgan For Lastings Milledge

If you're not following Will Carroll on Twitter, well, you're a little behind the knowledge curve.  Here is one of his latest tweets:

injuryexpertRT @jperrotto: Am told Morgan trade will either go down in next 24 hrs. or won't happen.

Do the Pittsburgh Pirates have the strong clubhouse personalities to handle Lastings Milledge, a player whose act has worn thin in two organizations already?  Or does that even matter given his potential?

Milledge

he makes more sense in LF or RF for Pittsburgh than Morgan in LF, no? Maybe he will grow up someday.
Gotta like what the new GM is doing there though.
The deal makes sense for both teams.

+1

Flipping Morgan for a talent like Milledge will be universally lauded. I do question, why the Pirates thought it wise to comment publicly on the mistake of signing Snell.

maybe the Pirates will throw in Ian Snell.

anyway, does this make Morgan’s value go up or down? does he become a platoon player in Washington? the Nats offense is in the middle of the NL in most categories. except steals. They either don’t run or they don’t have anyone who can run. Morgan’s main asset is his speed.

Bonds stands alone.

Nats

does this deal lead them to trade Willingham to the Reds or Braves or Mets?

Curious

I am not sure about the never give up on talent part. But at the cost of Nyjer Morgan, why not take a shot on Milledge?

Any idea why the trade of the relievers? Predictability vs. Upside? Money?

My guess is that the short term impact will be for Willie Harris to start packing his bags . Longer term, all of the Nats OFers are in play.
