Jason Grey's ESPN Chat
Erik (Chicago)
NL only Keeper league (5X5), who are your top five minor league prospects?Jason Grey
top of my head (sure I'm missing someone) - Strasburg, Heyward, Posey, Bumgarner, Stanton - Young Jr. and Escobar for steals, Alderson and Logan Morrison two of my favorites as well - that's more than five, oh well.

Quickest help
Could be Young Jr (43 SB, 34/43 BB/K in 267 ABs) who is in AAA as opposed to:
Strasburg; unsigned
Posey: Hi A Cal League, need to see hitting in less freindly environment
Heyward: Hi A
Bumgarner: AA 19-years-old dominating ERA but not impressive raw Ks and Ws – 38 and 12 in 46 IP
Stanton: AA and struggling/stilla djusting
Morrison: AA but less than 75 ABs in 2009. 14 BB v. 8 K in 61 AA Abs is great
Escobar: AAA but no obvious place to play.
Young and fantasy value
Grey has nailed the Young argument for a while.
Sure, in real baseball the kid might not be a top tier prospect. But he is in fantasy because of the steals element. There won’t be any need to wait on his speed to develop. It will be there from day one, which can’t be said for 90% of even A level prospects.
If he can find every day or almost every day playing time, he’s rosterable in 12 team leagues immediately. At least for those teams that are within striking distance in steals.
