What to do with Colby Rasmus?
Currently I am in a roto league in need of power. Had to trade up Nick Markakis to acquire closer Soria. Hence, the lack of power (or potential power) down the road.
Well I picked up young Colby being a hot hitting prospect and him having an opportunity to start everyday. Then Ankiel came back and now Colby is starting or PH. This inconsistency is driving me bonkers for my daily league. Is Rasmus simply just a 4th OF or will he be bonafide starter?

Rasmus
Rasmus is batting 4th in the Cards lineup lately, but anytime you have a Cardinal on your roster not named Pujols, expect more days off than most other starters in the NL. With that said, ESPN’s us Jason Grey recently compared Rasmus to Markakis, if I am not mistaken.
He may not be the hitting stud this year, but in keeper leagues he has plenty of value.

Welcome
Thank you. Rasmus is the leading ROY candidate in the NL right now barring a great pitching run by Jordan Zimmerman. Agree with raygu. Albert Pujols in ink. Everything else in the air.
Rasmus for 5 games a week is OK, but you have to catch the ones he’s sitting. So learn the daily transaction deadline in your league.
LHP
LaRussa sits Rasmus against lefties so if you can change your line-up daily and a lefty is pitching that is a good day to put Colby on your bench. Keep in mind though Rasmus is the best defender of the bunch so he often pinch hits and stays in as a defensive replacement. I also think he will slowly get more exposure to lefties as the year goes on, which may or may not be a good thing, since it will help his counting stats, but could lower his AVG.
