Buying/Selling Brandon Inge

Detroit Tigers' 3B Brandon Inge hit his 8th HR of the season on Sunday afternoon.   At this point, Inge likely ranks at or near the top of the 3B Rankings and Catcher ones no matter what the league categories.  The question is what does the Inge owner do or what does a fantasy owner offer to Inge's owner for him.

I really don't know.  I happen to have drafted Inge in several leagues thanks to his hitting splits at catcher and 3B.  He was easy to get very late in every draft format.

Given that initial cost, should an Inge owner feel good to get an 11th round value? 8th round? 4th round?  Higher?

Should someone trying to acquire Inge offer that?

FWIW, I was offered Glenn Perkins for Inge in a 12-team AL-Only 5x5 league.

I'm selling

Per my fan post. Person wanted him as a throw in my trade.

I picked him up off of waivers so I’ll take it.

Inge

He’s bound to come back to earth, this isn’t a sustainable level for him. I wouldn’t give up anything of value, because all you’re doing is paying for what he’s already done. You missed the gravy train, you’re just acquiring him in time for him to hit .200 for 6 weeks with 2 HR so his BA can settle in nicely around 260 where it usually is. If I already had him, I’d just ride him out until he goes about a week without hitting, which is inevitable.

Reason why can't sell high

Apply this to a generic hot start and you have nailed the reason why Sell High advice is often nothing more than a superficially smart answer.
