Waiver Wire Action

For some reason two teams in my 5x5 10 team mixed roto league gave up on both Hardy and Furcal.

1. My first question, is Furcal going to eventually turn his game around and become a SB and Run scoring threat?

2. Who would you value more? I would be cutting either Zobrist or Spilborghs to get either on my team.

3. Do both Hardy and Furcal have more value than either of the players I would cut, as I need help in pretty much every Hitting category.? Thanks for answering my questions.

Hardy was starting to turn it around before this latest injury. But he came back yesterday and smacked 3 hits, so he might be fine. He won’t get you steals, if that’s what you’re looking for.

Furcal has back issues again. remember he missed nearly all of last season due to back problems. When he is playing, right now, he’s been hitting behind Pierre, which is neutralizing his value. If he could ever get healthy, he can hit, but it is starting to look less likely. I don’t think he’ll run like he used to. If he’s the leadoff man when Manny gets back, he’ll be a good source of runs, but that’s a ways away. Right now, I’d recommend staying away from him, unless you’re willing to be patient and stash him on your bench. I wouldn’t drop Zobrist to pick him up, though…at least not right now anyway. I’m still not convinced that Zobrist is for real, but he’s definitely playing well right now.

I don’t know your outfield situation per Spillborghs, but he isn’t quite getting full-time action, though it is close to that. Of course, Hurdle may be canned in which case you don’t know what the Rockies will do with their OF situation. there’s talk of getting rid of Hawpe, which would increase Spil’s playing time. If you have better OF options, I’d drop him for Hardy. you could always stick Zobrist into the OF if that’s not where you’re playing him.

Bonds stands alone.

Thanks, I will drop Spilbourghs in favor of Hardy

Quentin is sitting on my bench and hopefully he gets healthy or the Sox put him on the 15 day DL.

Zobrist

I wouldn’t drop Zobrist for either HArdy or Furcal. In fact, I’d start him at SS over both.

FWIW, I ma startign Zobrist over Tulowitzki in a similar league.
