Thursday's Roto Round Up: Max Scherzer Fans 10, Mark Reynolds Homers Again in DBacks Win
Thursday's roto round up is highlighted by another Diamondbacks win. You know, the more the Dbacks win, the better manager AJ Hinch looks.
SP, Max Scherzer, ARI- roto owners were waiting for the day where Scherzer struck out double digits and got it on Thursday. Unfortunately, almost every starting pitcher fans double digits vs the Marlins.
SP, Andrew Miller, FLA-Miller fanned 9 Dbacks in 7 innings in what is probably is best start going back to last year. But it was against the Dbacks, so tread carefully.
3B, Mark Reynolds, ARI-Ryenolds hit his 12th HR and stole his 10th base on Thursday. At this point, he is on pace for 40+ HRs and 30+ SBs. Wow.
C, Joe Mauer, MIN-Mauer continues to absolutely rake at the plate, hitting his 8th HR, a grand slam, and drove in 6 runs. He is hitting .417 now.Is this what Lance Berkman meant by "clownish"?
SP, Edwin Jackson, DET-Jackson won his 4th game of the season, and lowered his ERA to 2.55 in his win over the Rangers. Jackson is heaving a breakout year in 2009. Who expected that?
SP,Joba Chamberlain, NYY-the Yankees asked Chin-Meng Wang to make another start at AA Scranton-Wilkes Barre. Maybe not afte Joba took a line drive off his leg tonight.
OF, Chris Young, ARI-another ofer for CY with 2 more K's. Who wants to start a pool to see when he is sent back to AAA? Can you buy this low??
SP, Carl Pavano, CLE-Pavano won his 4th game, givng up 3 runs on 6 hits and a walk, while striking out 8. Pavano could be making a case for comeback player of the year.
CL, Joel Hanrahan, WAS-Hanrahan bounced back after a dreadful outing last night in Pittsburgh to strike out two to earn his 4th save of the season.

Certo??
is that Cueto?? If it is, I would keep him. Scherzer will give you K’s and a decent ERA and WHIP, but the wins may be hard to come by in Arizona if the hitting doesn’t pick up.
The other 4 are no-brainers. Nice staff.

Start em or Sit em
Cano vs Orlando Hudson
A. Cabrera vs Guzman at SS
3 spots for 4 bats.
I also have J. Dye, and Vernon wells on my bench today. I can’t figure out my 2B/SS/Utlity spots.

$0.02
Cano especially at home. Brett myers goes tonight and his is prone to homers.
A Cabrera until he cools. The Indians are stealing bases after years of Wedge disallowing it.
Then Guzman over Hudson in case ODog’s shoulder limits him. Guzman is a nice fill-in until then.,

Eric
Robg62 is my brother. He spend about an hour prep time before our other NL only keeper league draft, and is sitting in 2nd place a few points behind me. I don’t know who many times a players name was called, and he responded with eyes glazed “whos’ he?”

Always happens
There is something to over-analyzing players.
