Am I Selling Carlos Lee Too Low?
My main money league, 10 teams mixed, standard 5x5 roto, 7 keepers... I have Carlos Lee, Alfonso Soriano, and ARod, so my team is aging. I really want to deal Lee midseason, and I'll sit on Arod and Soriano for another year unless a good opportunity comes along.
I've made an offer right now for Hunter Pence straight up, and, if that doesn't go through, I'm going to seek Curtis Granderson. That seems about fair, no?
Here's the dilemma. If neither of those work out, would you try to move Lee for someone like Alex Rios, Shane Victorino, Nate McLouth, Joey Votto, etc.? I'm inclined to sit on him at that point.
Thoughts?

Me
Lee for Pence or Granderson looks fair with a good balance of this year and future value. I’d probably hold him though. Personally, I’d love to add Votto for Lee.
+1 on Votto for Lee
In a vacuum I’d rather have Votto than Granderson or Pence, and with Lee’s name value (although he is still a very good hitter) you could probably get Votto.
I do like Votto alot...
but I took Chris Davis over him in the draft in the first round (oops). Davis’ power is legit but his ct% is just above 50 right now. Yeah.. he’s actually earning a .220 BA. I can’t even start play him until he starts putting some balls in play.
Pence owner countered with Pence/Span for Lee/Lowell. I already have Arod so Lowell doesn’t play much, but Span is almost worthless and he doesn’t have anything else on his bench I’d be interested in. Hm…
Yeah?
I do think his peripherals are going in the right direction and he has upside, but I also have Crisp, who is the same type of player. My OF is cluttered already with Lee (Pence), Soriano, Crawford, and Jay Bruce.. I’ll need to think about this some more. Thanks for the insight, BTW.
Format
Quite true. Makes sense that those hitters who are not at the extremes in HR and SB would be relatively plentiful.
Votto is the call
but yes, you are selling too low on lee. Stick it out
"That's not a weird stat. Rickie is a run-scorer," Yost said. "It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter," Yost told reporters. "See, you guys have no concept. He's a run-scorer. So there's nothing weird about it. That's what he does."
Well...
I made the Pence/Span – Lee/Lowell deal. I inquired about Votto and Quentin before pulling the trigger and got no interest. We’ll see how this shakes out…
