Monday's Roto Roundup: Fowler Runs Wild, Double Salami in Philly!

Monday's roto roundup is highlighted by Colorado Rockies rookie OFer Dexter Fowler stealing 5 bases in the first 4 innings against San Diego starter Chris Young.

DexterFowler - Fowler is 2 for 2, 3 runs scored, and  5 SBs in just 4 innings of play. I guess Seth Smith and Ryan Spilborghs will be platooning in LF.

Ryan Zimmerman - the balls were flying out of Citizens Bank Park in the 85 degree weather on Monday night. Zimmerman went 2 for 4 with 2 HRs, 3 runs scored, and 3 RBI.

Raul Ibanez - Ibanez hit the game winning grand slam off of Nationals closer Joel Hanrahan. Ibanez went 3 for 5 at the plate with 4 RBI and 2 runs scored. Ibanez and  Ryan Howard each hit grand salamis on Monday night.

Jimmy Rollins - Rollins owners can breathe a sigh of relief as Rollins broke out of his season long slump by going 3 for 5 with 2 runs scored.

Cliff Lee - Kerry Wood blew Lee's gem last night by giving up 3 runs in the 9th vs the Red Sox. Lee threw 8 shutout innings, giving up 5 hits and striking out 5. Lee owners-BREATHE!

Tim Wakefield - Wakefield outpitched Lee by allowing only 1 hit, walking 4 and K'ing 5. He lowered his ERA to 1.96. Jonathon Papelbon did his best imition of Kerry Wood by giving up 3 hits and a runs while striking out 2 to earn the save.

Justin Verlander - Verlander outpitched CC Sabathia by scattering 7 hits over 7 innings, and striking out 9 in the Tigers 4-2 win over the Yankees. Verlander needs a few more outings like this to lower his ERA below 6.75.

Brian Bannister - Bannister threw another quality start against the Blue Jays, although he walked 6, he only gave up 1 hit to earn his 2nd win on the season. Omar-how is Ambrioux Burgos throwing these days? In jail? Never mind.

Carlos Pena - Pena hit his 9th HR of the season in the Rays 7-1 win over the Twins.

Lee

Has been driving me crazy. But I started him and even without the win he put up good points yesterday.

How about starting any Speed demons when Chris Young and Nick Hundley start

The guy allowed 9 SBs last night. I’m pretty sure it has a lot to do with Young not being able to hold runners on what so ever, but Hundley still couldn’t gun them down.

"That's not a weird stat. Rickie is a run-scorer," Yost said. "It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter," Yost told reporters. "See, you guys have no concept. He's a run-scorer. So there's nothing weird about it. That's what he does."
