Roto Roundup From Saturday

Here are a few highlights from Saturday's games:

Paul Maholm-apparently his spring training stats were a precursor of what to expect from him in 2009. He threw 7 innings, giving up 3 hits, 2 walks, and 3 strikeouts against the Reds on Saturday afternoon for his first victory of the season.

Albert Pujols-King Albert slugged 2 HRs and drove in 7 runs in the Cardinals win over the Astros. He appears to be on track for another MVP season.

Carlos Marmol-he earned the save vs the Brewers last night by fanning Ryan Braun and Prince Fielder with a man on second base. Manager Lou Piniella chose Marmol over closer Kevin Gregg who blew a save on Friday night. Will be interesting to see who gets the next save opportunity.

Chase Utley-Utley had two hits and a SB vs. the Rockies on Saturday night. The SB has to make owners feel more confident in Utley's recovery from offseason hip surgery.

CC Sabathia-Sabathia threw 7 2/3 scoreless innings vs. the Royals on Saturday night giving up only 6 hits while striking out 6. Maybe he will have a better April this year than he did in 2008.

Emilio Bonafacio-Bonafacio had 3 more hits on Saturday. Do you sell high on him? Would be curious as to what he would fetch as I drafted him late in one of my leagues.

Jason Motte- Manager Tony Larussa used Motte in the 6th inning of yesterday's game vs. the Astros to give him some work in a non-pressure situation. Motte fanned two in one inning of work. Another closer battle to keep your eye on in April.

Should fantasy owners sell high on Emilio Bonafacio?
Yes, he won't hit this well all year, and has no power playing a power position.

No, if he can continue to get on base, he can steal 40 bags.

Utley

The stolen base will probably put to rest any concerns about his SBs going down. Last season, he stole 2-3 per month. I never really bought the potential lack of SB as a major negative to Utley’s value.

The lack of power would be the main one. Stealing 2-3 per month seems like it would largely remain insignificant in the heat of battle.
