Just an observation
In regards to this blog:
I'm a big SB Nation fan, I'm an active member at a bunch of them and I enjoy Fake Teams as well. I have a gripe with the scope of its coverage however. A few weeks ago there was a fan post asking why there hasn't been much fantasy football posting going on, and the response was that the main writers are almost entirely fantasy baseball enthusiasts and thus their writing and posting steers in that direction. This is fine and I understand it. But I also notice that since these writers are almost exclusively in NL-only leagues, the writing scope steers even narrower. This is a big issue for me as well as most of your readers. There was a poll a few months back asking what kind of baseball leagues we all participate in, and the response was overwhelmingly "mixed leagues", not NL or AL only. For me at least, if the writing continues to be entirely dominated by NL-only talk, I'll be reading less and less. I already have been reading less and less, for that matter.
I don't mean to come across as rude or threatening, just thought I'd let you know that I'm being alienated by the content, and I'm sure most of your readers are as well. Thanks for the consideration.

thanks
ILLZ-thanks for the post. I hear you on the coverage and will try to mix it up a bit more going forward. My focus does steer toward NL only leagues which is why I brought on Ian to balance things out.
I hope you continue to read Faketeams going forward.
Is there anything else that readers want to see covered going forward?

Fan Posts
I think the FT community could spur on more AL-only/mixed league format via these FanPosts. The FanShots also work.
AL v NL
FWIW- I would like to see more AL coverage as well, mainly because I am usally in both AL only and NL only fantasy leagues. I follow the NL more closely but I believe AL only formats are more difficult to win.
On that note-
what will be the Fake Teams fantasy leagues this year? We have the NL only 4×4 roto and I am not aware of what others were going. Maybe we can have an AL only league or two as well? I suck at roto but would be willing to give it a try. Final FWIW, I don’t like playing in free leagues.
Any updates, please post.
I'd like to see basketball and hockey coverage as well...
While I love this site and visit every day, the logo is a bit misleading by having Manning, Wade, LT and Crosby on it.
Or perhaps SBN needs blogs specific to these fantasy sports.
That said, thanks for all the in depth baseball coverage.

When i was running things, I found it impossible to cover anything more than baseball and football. The time constraints and compensation (near zero) made it impossible.
I added a basketball writer who was quickly given a meager stipend at Fanball. Hockey is such a distnat 4th it wasn’t even a consideration.
In its current set-up, FT can’t cover anything more than baseball and football IMO. Even then the front page set-up doesn’t permit the frequent updating that fantasy players are accustomed to receiving. Things fall off to quickly
FWIW
I’ll be posting whenever I have time. I’ll try to fill in some gaps with the football coverage and I’m going to focus on some AL content to compliment Ray’s superb NL stuff. I’m going to formulate whatever seems interesting to me into a thread, but specifically I’m going to give in depth analyses of AL players, becoming more frequent the closer to the spring that we get.
Still alive.
I want to say that I’m to some small extent at fault.
Ray brought me onto the blog as primarily an AL-only specialist, which is true. However, there was little to no fantasy football coverage going on either, so I believed that covering a whole sport was likely more important, especially with the season nearly wrapped.
On the other hand, some of this is also beyond my control. No one is getting rich here, but not for lack of trying. I go to school full-time, and I’m out covering games 2-3 nights a week for Rivals.com. I was also without a laptop before the New Year for quite some time, which didn’t help.
I’ll try to start my fantasy research in probably a few weeks for baseball, and I do plan to contribute here significantly. I think that the football followers that took advice benefited this season, and I hope to do the same in the baseball venue.
