Good post
I love this stuff. I’m new to SB Nation blogs, but love FanGraphs (easily the best baseball stats website around) Good stuff!

thanks
Glad to see you found us. Check the archives via Search and you will find similar posts back in September/October, I think. Just search by pitcher name.

sleepers
I understand you’re basing the sleepers on the difference b/w ERA and xFIP, but maybe there should also be a max. xFIP, b/c Livan Hernandez (and probably even Pelfrey) shouldn’t be anywhere near a fantasy roster in 2010!
I love Brett Anderson as a sleeper. Also, Hiroki Kuroda (3.66 xFIP) seems to get no love at all.

sleepers
I guess you could call them bounce-back candidates. I agree on Livan, but Pelfrey at the right price might be worth the gamble.

More unlucky
This is measuring difference between the pitcher’s actaul ERA less what it should have been independent of fielding/luck. It is useful in separating Nolascos from Livan, even though their ERA’s are similar. Livan and Pelfrey might not be as bad their numbers indicate, but they still were not close to good.
