Fantasy Football Preview: Week 4

Tampa Bay @ Washington:
GOTTA PLAY EM!
- Chris Cooley-There are great quarterbacks who use TEs strategically (Manning-Clark)…Then there are quarterbacks who depend on TEs when they don’t know what else to do (Campbell-Cooley). Play Cooley.
- Kellen Winslow- See Chris Cooley
You could do worse than…
- Ladell Betts (if Portis is out)- The Tampa Bay defense has seen better days. As long as Portis isn’t playing this week he’ll rack up the points.
- Derrick Ward- He should bounce back from his poor performance against the G-men. The Redskins defense has Haynesworth, but they still aren’t intimidating.
- Jason Campbell- He put together a good game week 3 and the Buc’s secondary smells like a pirate who’s been at sea and hasn’t bathed in months.
- Antonio Bryant- Last year everything went right for him. I wouldn’t expect anything close to that this season, but he could be a good WR3…maybe
- Santana Moss- GREAT game last week. He could always put together a great game (esp against old ronde barber)…but he does like to disappear at times.
- Cadillac Williams: A TD perhaps?
Child please, don’t even think about…
- Josh Johnson-Any quarterback on the Bucs should be ignored.
- Clinton Portis- He’s still young, but he’s been in the league forever. At this point he’s doesn’t have any ankles. I don’t think Portis is a good bet to play this week.
Baltimore @ New England:
GOTTA PLAY EM!
- Randy Moss- DUHHH
- Wes Welker- (If he actually plays). Listed as questionable.
- Tom Brady- He’s a must start every week no matter how good the opposing defense is.
- Ray Rice/Willis McGahee- These guys get touches every week. Willis gets a TD every week. Ray Rice can be money in PPR leagues.
You could do worse than…
- Joe Flacco- Super consistent all year. I’m not sure how he puts up those numbers with the medicore talent around him.
- Derrick Mason- PPR king.
- Whoever you think the Patriots RB is- The Patriots always get a rushing TD.
- Todd Heap-Mini-resurrection with Flacco’s emergence this season.
- Julian Edelman-(if Welker doesn’t play)
Child please, don’t even think about…
- Ben Watson-So inconsistent.
- Joey Galloway-I’m surprised Bellicheck hasn’t given up on him yet.
Detroit @ Chicago:
GOTTA PLAY EM!
- Jay Cutler- Anyone should be able to throw 2TDs against the lions.
- Matt Forte- Forte has stunk this season, but this is a good opportunity to wake-up.
- Greg Olsen-This is the game where Cutler-Olsen madness begins.
- Calvin Johnson-Never bench him.
You could do worse than…
- Devin Hester-Big play ability
- Bryant Johnson-The Lions will have to pass because they should be facing a large deficit early.
Child please, don’t even think about…
- Maurice Morris- Kevin Smith probably isn’t playing this week…I don’t see Maurice Morris making an impact.
- Matt Stafford-He’s still growing. He has to prove that he’ll put up good numbers for a whole game.
Tennessee @ Jacksonville:
GOTTA PLAY EM!
- Maurice Jones-Drew- DUHHH
- Chris Johnson- Super fast, lightning feet, crazy hair Chris Johnson.
You could do worse than…
- Justin Gage/Kenny Britt- Someone has to catch a pass in this game.
- Mike Sims-Walker -The best receiver on the Jaguars.
- David Garrard-The Titans have been struggling on defense early this season.
- Kerry Collins- Only use him if you need to fill in for a BYE
Child please, don’t even think about…
- TE’s on both teams-They don’t get involved enough to be worthwhile.
- Lendale White- This is Chris Johnson’s offense now.
- Torry Holt- Stick a fork in him.
Oakland @ Houston:
GOTTA PLAY EM!
- Matt Schaub-no question
- Andre Johnson-DUHHH
- Kevin Walter-Hopefully he can put injuries behind him. Welker-like
- Owen Daniels-Great TE that people forget about.
You could do worse than…
- Darren Mcfadden-He’s got skills and the Raiders need to run if they want to score.
- Steve Slaton- His weight gain in the off-season combined with inabilty to run in traffic has made him shakey. Hopefully this is where he rights the ship.
- Zach Miller-Russell trusts him…if thats worth anything.
Child please, don’t even think about…
- Jamarcus Russell-This guy is about ready to be declared a bust.
- Oakland WR’s-Not buying the passing game.
Cincinnati @ Cleveland:
GOTTA PLAY EM!
- Carson Palmer-The whole offense is starting to click. Cleveland’s defense has no chance.
- Chad OchoCinco-Has been a decent option this year.
- Cedric Benson-This doesn’t make any sense.
You could do worse than…
- Jerome Harrison-He’ll get plenty of touches. Jamal Lewis is doubtful and James Davis was placed on injured reserve.
- Braylon Edwards-Has a better chance to score TDs now that Anderson is the QB again.
Child please, don’t even think about…
- Derrick Anderson
- Robert Royal-Cleveland TE was used by Quinn, but hasn’t seen time with Anderson till now.
Seattle @ Indianapolis:
GOTTA PLAY EM!
- Peyton Manning, Reggie Wayne, Dallas Clark
You could do worse than…
- Donald Brown/Joesph Addai- About evenly split in how many carries they get. I like Brown a little bit more (so do the Colts).
- TJ Houshmanzadeh/Nate Burleson/John Carlson- Seattle will have to pass.
- Pierre Garcon- Emerging star on awesome Colts offense.
Child please, don’t even think about…
- Seneca Wallace/Hasselbeck- Hasselbeck is banged up. I anticipate a few interceptions from whoever is the QB
- Julius Jones-He gets plenty of carries…but I don’t believe production will last.
Giants @ Kansas City:
GOTTA PLAY EM!
- Brandon Jacobs/Ahmad Bradshaw-Running over the Chiefs won’t take much effort.
- Eli Manning-He has the potential to put up huge numbers, but if they get a big lead early it could be bad for his fantasy stats. The Giants run out the clock once they get up by 14.
You could do worse than…
- Steve Smith-will always post a modest 5 receptions for 60ish yards
- Mario Manningham-Big play potential
- Kevin Boss-He hasn’t been involved a lot lately, but he’s a great red zone target.
Child please, don’t even think about…
- Matt Cassel-I’m not buying him against the Giants defense
- Dwayne Bowe-Injured and looking to make some chemistry with Cassel
- Larry Johnson-No
Buffalo @ Miami:
GOTTA PLAY EM!
- Ronnie Brown-He is the center of the Dolphins’ offense.
You could do worse than…
- Terrell Owens-I think he’s upset about his goose-egg last week. He should get the ball
- Lee Evans-High risk, reward every single game
- Ricky Williams-Tons of touches for this backup
- Ted Ginn-He posted 175 yards against the Bills in his last matchup
- Marshawn Lynch/Fred Jackson-There should be an equal timeshare this week. Both are solid backs.
- Anthony Fasano-Chad Henne will need a big reliable target
- Davone Bess-Super consistent, short routes, great hands. Rookies need a guy like this.
Child please, don’t even think about…
- Chad Henne-He is being thrown into his first career start.
- Trent Edwards-I feel like the Dolphins defense will step up this week.
Jets @ New Orleans:
GOTTA PLAY EM!
- Drew Brees-best qb in the league
- Pierre Thomas-This guy is a beast. I don’t care if he’s playing the Jets defense.
- Jeremy Shockey
You could do worse than…
- Marques Colston-Hes got talent, but Darrelle Revis will be covering him.
- Dustin Keller-The Jets have a great TE for years to come
- Leon Washington-I anticipate the Jets being losing early. Leon will come in on passing downs.
- Thomas Jones-Always has the potential for a goal-line TD.
- Reggie Bush-Big play potential
- Mark Sanchez- Hey may make mistakes, but he’ll have plenty of pass attempts this week
- Jerrico Cotchery-Jets best WR
Child please, don’t even think about…
- Lance Moore-He needs to prove that he’s healthy. I’m sure that Brees has plenty of other targets to look at first.
St. Louis @ San Francisco:
GOTTA PLAY EM!
- Glenn Coffee-Filling in for Frank Gore against a mediocre Rams defense
- Steven Jackson-Hopefully he starts catching more passes soon
You could do worse than…
- Donnie Avery-Laurent Robinson is on the IR so Avery has to step up.
- Vernon Davis-TD threat. They like getting him involved.
Child please, don’t even think about…
- Shaun Hill/Kyle Boller-These QBs make me sick
- Randy McMichael/Daniel Fells-These guys are nobodys
- Josh Morgan-The 49ers are a run-first team.
Dallas @ Denver:
GOTTA PLAY EM!
- Tony Romo-Should have a great day against an overrated Broncos defense
- Jason Witten-Witten is Romo’s best friend and most reliable target
- Brandon Marshall-The Cowboys don’t have a great pass defense. Marshall gets more and more involved every week.
- Tashard Choice-Looks like he’s getting the carries for Dallas this week.
You could do worse than…
- Tony Scheffler-Im surprised Kyle Orton hasn’t passed to him more.
- Correll Buckhalter/Knowshawn Moreno-The Broncos have been running the ball well. Splitting carries.
- Roy Williams-He’s got skills, but Dallas doesn’t use him enough.
Child please, don’t even think about…
- Kyle Orton-Mr. Orton depends on the running game.
San Diego @ Pittsburgh:
GOTTA PLAY EM!
- Philip Rivers/Ben Roethlisberger-This should be a shootout. At least 2 TDs for each QB.
- Vincent Jackson/Santonio Holmes-Each WR1 should post WR1 numbers
- Tomlinson/Sproles-Pittsburgh’s defense is iffy
- Antonio Gates
You could do worse than…
- Hines Ward/Legadu Naanee-TONS OF PASSES
- Heath Miller-Just missed a TD last week
- Rashard Mendenhall-Willie Parker isn’t playing
Child please, don’t even think about…
- Willie Parker(he’s not playing)
Green Bay @ Minnesota:
GOTTA PLAY EM!
- Aaron Rodgers
- Greg Jennings
- Adrian Peterson
You could do worse than…
- Ryan Grant-It’ll be tough for him to run against the Viikings D-line.
- Donald Driver-Great numbers this year.
- Vistanthe Shiancoe
Child please, don’t even think about…
- Brett Favre-The Green Bay defense will look to get their revenge on Monday

Some good stuff..
But I don’t agree with a lot of it. I wouldn’t advise anyone to consider NOT playing Julius Jones. The Colts run defense has been paper thin. The Seahawks will lean on the run this week I’m betting.
Also, Derrick Ward is unlikely to play.
Those are just a few things I glanced at.
Still, glad to have you here.

I'm not so sure on a couple either
the Lions allow a ton yards through the air, but in the last two games, they’ve held AP to 92 yards (and 118 total) and last week they held Portis to 42 yards. The Lions rush D may be highly underrated, and thus not looking like much of a rebound game for Forte. Thus I think Hester us the must start, and Forte is a start based on draft position, since the other receivers will be open downfield and Cutler won’t need a checkdown receiver.
Orton should have a decent game as the Dallas D does give up a ton of yards in the passing game, has issues rushing the QB (Ware and Spencer still are sackless, with only Jay Ratliff the nose-guard having the best pass rush of the team). The Running game of denver should have issues.
Thats all I got for now.
"That's not a weird stat. Rickie is a run-scorer," Yost said. "It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter," Yost told reporters. "See, you guys have no concept. He's a run-scorer. So there's nothing weird about it. That's what he does."
