MLB Trade Rumors: Carlos Beltran to the Red Sox?
Michael Silverman of the Boston Herald wrote yesterday that he thinks the Red Sox should trade for the Met's center fielder Carlos Beltran to improve their outfield defense. A trade for Beltran would move current CFer Jacoby Ellsbury to left field, thus eliminating the Sox chances of re-signing Jason Bay.
If the Mets do look to rid themselves of some big contracts, Beltran could be on the block, and the Mets could get a pretty good return for Beltran since his contract doesn't run out until 2011.
Ia m sure the usual names would be involved in any deal for Carlos Beltran-Clay Buchholz, Michael Bowden, Josh Reddick, and so on.

Seems like a lot of lost speed,
having him defend just a 12×12 space of OF. He does have a LF arm though and would be a massive upgrade defensively away from Fenway.
post mortem?
I thought Beltran passed away last year but maybe it was just his knees that died.
