NL Cy Young Award should go to...
There may be more than the Big Three in contention for the NL Cy Young award. But for simplicity sake I kept it narrowed to Chris Carpenter, Tim Lincecum and Adam Wainwright . Who do you think deserves the award? If you think someone else deserves the Cy Young award please choose "other" and state the player in a post and the reason why you think he deserves it.
Brief overview of each player's season stats-
Carpenter: 28 GS, 17-4, 192.2 IP, 144 k's, 2.24 ERA, 1.01 WHIP, .226 BAA
Lincecum: 32 GS, 15-7, 225.1 IP, 261 K's, 2.48 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, .206 BAA
Wainwright: 34 GS, 19-8, 233 IP, 212 k's, 2.63 ERA, 1.21 WHIP, .243*

Carp
Of the three mentioned I think Wainwright deserves it the least. The race should be between Carpenter and Lincecum. Carpenter has fewer starts, innings and a worse k/9 stat but Lincecum has much worse road stats, including allowing all his homers on the road (10) as well as having a road ERA of nearly double that of home (3.21/1.88). In fairness to Lincecum, the Giants provided little run support having one of the worst offenses in baseball while the Cardinals offense is closer to being middle of the pack. Lincecum had 11 quality starts where he took either a loss or no decision. Carpenter had eight such starts. In all I think Carpenter deserves it more though. The home/road splits are the difference for me.

Carp and Lincecum
Tough call. I throw out wins as I see it more as a team rather than neccessarily than individual stat. Lincecum has thrown 30 more innings and over 100 more K’s. However, I give the edge to Carpenter with the better ERA in a not as friendly home park. I’m 51/49 on this. Both outstanding seasons.
