Open Thread: Fantasy Football Week 5
It's 5:45 a.m., and I haven't slept. Brady, or Garrard, Garrard, or Brady.
In a little over six hours, lineups will lock at 12:55 p.m. and The Brady Bunch won't include a Greg (he's on a bye-week), but it will be led by a Tom. Despite not allowing a passing touchdown and ranking second in the league in passing YPG allowed, I still think the hooded one will devise a gameplan that sees Brady get some things done through the air.
In the case that he doesn't, I'm creating a thread for owners to banter, hoot and holler about any and all things for this week's games and your fantasy teams. Frankly, this page needs more discussion, so it's up to everyone to get things ramped up. Everyone who voted for Garrard in my Ask the Royalty of Roto post earlier this week is invited to throw pies and/or ridicule me if I turn out to be wrong in this thread.
I'll try to participate for the better part of the afternoon until I see my Detroit Pistons host the Hawks in preseason action tonight, and don't forget if you need pre-game advice, scroll down for my lineup decisions post where you can get assistance on any decisions you may need it with.
Have at it, good luck in advance, and as fans in Ann Arbor would say, may the Forcier be with you.

Ok... I'll start the ubiquitous "who should I start"....
1 RB, 2 flex, 1 WR
(2 pts per 10 yds receiving, 1 pt per 10 yds rushing in my league)
Steve Slaton, Marion Barber, Marshawn Lynch, Andre Johnson, Brandon Marshall, Anquan Boldin
Currently planning on leaving Lynch and Boldin on the bench. But, with Lynch facing the Browns, I’m torn…
Get the WRs out there
I’m a little foreign to leagues with a slanted point system like this, but your trio of WR’s is all strong so I think I would have to start them all.
You can’t rely on Lynch yet. The Bills have a history with going with the hot hand and that’s been Jackson. Depending on your situation and preference, Barber is the safe play, Slaton has more potential for a big game.
Check up on game-time decisions. Felix Jones and Roy Williams are out, Jamal Lewis in but Harrison is getting carries according to ESPN’s John Clayton and Mort.

Daunte Culpepper may outrun your flex back. He’s got something like 40 yards already on the ground.
Megatron reinjured his right leg, I’ll try and figure out more on that but going out on a cart is never encouraging for a return..might have tweaked it streaking across the end zone.
Meanwhile, the Cowboys look like they’re shooting themselves in the foot. Muffed punt and a missed FG is never good.

Calvin Johnson injury
BaseballProspectus.com’s Will Carroll, the guru of injuries, tweeted me back and said he hadn’t looked at Megatron’s injury yet, but Johnson is walking, so hopefully he returns. The Steelers are not looking their sharpest today, and obviously owners are always counting on a big game regardless of his opponent.
I’ll try and keep everyone updated.

Garrard and Sims-Walker
If anyone saw the Fanshot I posted, Mike Sims-Walker is inactive today for violation of team rules. Obviously, now good reason to downgrade David Garrard.
