Last night, SI.com's Jon Heyman mentioned on the MLB Network's Hot Stove show, that the Mets made an offer to SP Oliver Perez in the 3 yr $30 million range. Not bad for Omar Minaya.

Is Omar Minaya using the money saved from the drop in the free agent market to move in on Manny Ramirez?? One wonders why Scott Boras.com, or Jon Heyman, hasn't written about the Mets interest yet.

The New York Yankees are rumored to be talking to the Washington Nationals about Nick Swisher. I wonder if the Yankees are looking to bring Lasting Milledge back to NY in that deal? They need a CFer, and Milledge is apparently fighting for the CF job with Elijah Dukes in spring training. Plus, the Nationals have more outfielders than they know what to do with. Swisher could play 1b for the Nationals.
