The Boston Red Sox just signed former Dodgers' closer, Takashi Saito, to a guaranteed 2009 contract with a club option for 2010.  With John Smotlz set to take a rotation spot and Saito joining the bullpen, this certainly appears to set-up the trade of one or two of the Red Sox pitching prospects/middle relievers.

With Josh Bard the only catcher on the 40-man roster with a major league AB (sorry, George Kotteras), there is no reason not to begin speculating on a trade with the Texas Rangers for either C Taylor Teagarden or C Jarrod Saltalamacchia.  My guess is Justin Masterson and either Michael Bowden or Daniel Bard go to Texas for Salty.
