Dodgers-Pirates rumor
from the Beaver County Times, via rotoworld:
The Beaver County Times reports that the Dodgers "have zeroed in on" on Jack Wilson as a replacement for Rafael Furcal.
According to the newspaper, the two teams "are in serious talks about a trade" for Wilson, who grew up and currently lives near Los Angeles. Matt Kemp's name is mentioned in connection with the possible deal, but we can't imagine that even Ned Colletti would deal him for a 30-year-old shortstop with a 690 career OPS.
If Kemp is involved, I can only hope Jason Bay is also part of the deal, otherwise, Ned is REALLY off his rocker.
Where would Pittsburgh put Kemp with that all-star outfield-Nady, Bay and McClouth? What would it mean for Andrew McCutchen? He's supposed to take over CF in 2009, no?
Maybe the writer of this article at the Beaver County Times had a bit too many Iron City's on his lunch break.
I hope I wasn't too hard on beaver.

that it could be one of the following….and still way too much:
Laroche and McDonald for Wilson
Hu and McDonald for Wilson
something is missing in these offers from the Buccos side. Laroche playing with his brother in the same is a possibility. Guess Torre is still in love with Dewitt. Either that, or he wants to make Martin the 3bman and make either Lucas May or Carlos Santana the starting catcher next year.

LaRoche
I think Buster Olney and others have reported a whisper campaign against LaRoche from LA sources. If the Pirates get Hu or LaRoche and a decent pitching prospect like McDonald for Jack Wilson, then Ned Colletti needs to be Bavasi-ed before he can do more harm.

??
Where are the Dodgers’ rumors? So close to 1st place and in need of so much with plenty of prospects to deal and nothing? What this, Houston?

KLaw
His take on what is going on in LA1
Craig (PA): I know its not a scouting question, but what is wrong with the Dodgers front office? Is it just the GM that is dysfunctional or does it go all the way up to McCourt?Keith Law: (1:18 PM ET ) I think there’s a schism there between the scouting group that was there pre-Colletti (and largely pre-Depo) and acquired most of the good young players on the Dodgers now, and Colletti, who favors veterans and has no particular attachment to Kemp, Loney, Billingsley, etc.

and apparently...
the scouting group has McCourt’s ear. Doesn’t sound good for Colletti. With that said, they need to make a move for a power bat, and a SP, if possible-without trading Kemp. The Dbacks have stopped hitting and LA needs to take advantage while they can. Make a move!!!
How about Loney for Teixiera?
