On the Topic of Bailing...

I'm currently in 3rd in my 10 team 5x5 but I have absolutely no offence and 2 of my OFs (Corey Patterson and Chris Duncan) just got sent down and Papi is on the DL. So I think I'm going to bail...how does this offer sound:

To Me: JJ Putz, Billy Butler, 1st round Free Agent draft pick 2009

To Him: Brad Lidge

I think I'm getting a huge steal here because Putz is as good as Lidge when he's on, and Butler is awesome (hopefully will be by next year anyways when I'll need him)

Thoughts?

Oh yeah. This is a loser trade for him. The closers could wash by season’s end 2008 and you’d still have Butler and the pick for next year.

You're kidding right?

Is this an all or nothing league? Unless it is and you’re in 3rd place, this is no time to bail. If you can’t replace Patterson and Duncan off your MIXED LEAGUE waiver wire, you probably aren’t looking too hard.

On the other hand, you should take the deal. It is a steal.

No waiver wire

Only 2 Free Agent drafts, one just passed. I went for it last year and thus had no picks in the last FA draft and only 1 in the upcoming one so I don’t have much to help me and I don’t have a ton of prospects left to trade to improve my team.
