Bail? Not!
Don't ya love it when you bail and then move up in the standings? I don't know if it is a short term aberration or a legitimate move (probably the first), but activating Jay Bruce a week ago helped as I stand in 6th place in a 12 team NL only league. If you bail, do you still try to compete or mail it home for the rest of the year?
I like to try to compete, at a minimum, because the two leagues I am in reward a 6th place finish with the 1st pick in the minor league draft and on down the way. (So it sucks to finish 12th or last and end up with the 7th pick - a bit similar to the Knicks lottery result this year!)

Keep going
I am in the ‘race’ for 6th-11th in my league. I will keep going but only with a minimum of moves in order to try and get that 1st pick in the league (we have the same reserve draft order). I have Kershaw and Carpenter waiting in the wings and the worst pitching staff in the league so there’s always hope of some upper tier collapses and a 2nd half run at 4th or 5th. Only one team has completely stopped in our league but that’s expansion teams for you.
Early bailing
When bailing with 67-75% of the season left, the bailing team has to be killed to prevent it from rising from the dead. Only teams that completely blew their draft would remian so. Teams that were just unlucky will come back.
Lucky
Drafting Ludwick at $3 guarantees you a spot at the lucky table. We’ll see how trading for him on pace for 40 HRs works out.
